Great resort near mountains, Garden of the Gods, Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, Manitou Springs, and Olympic Training Center! Cheyenne Mountain Resort has relaxing pool areas, sand beach, kayaking, golf course, fitness center, spa, and is situated on mountain side with breathtaking views. Resort grounds are kept in pristine condition and staff is very warm, open, and friendly. We stayed for a full week and enjoyed everything that the resort had to offer. The outdoor community spaces including multiple patios, fire pits, rocking chairs, and cozy seating were welcoming. On-site restaurants were good and there are additional restaurants within walking distance in nice surrounding neighborhood.
Great access to I-25. Several lunch/dinner restaurants located nearby. Hotel breakfast was marginal and lukewarm warm. Coffee creamer was inadequate and when I mentioned it I was told that they were waiting on a truck (from Thursday check in till Sunday check out)?
We had a comfortable stay. We had wanted to schedule a 30 day stay, but that is not doable, as there is a limit of 28 days. I am sure the additional days could have been added, but we left on the 28th. The staff were very friendly. The rooms were clean enough, bug free with a fairly comfortable bed. FYI: I was informed, the comforters are washed once per month. I used my own linens/towels! We chose this hotel because of their pet friendliness.
Downtown Colorado Springs has a mix of shops, restaurants, and bars – all with stunning views of Pikes Peak. Four miles away, peculiar rock formations, rock climbing, and hiking/biking trails can be found at Garden of the Gods, where admission is free. Future Olympians train nearby at the U.S. Olympic Complex.
