Master bedroom, two guest bedrooms, and two children's bedrooms. Big, open, light-filled kitchen (Bosch, Wolf, marble counters) opens onto lovely stone terrace with its own dining table and patio furniture, garden & saltwater pool. Large master bath with double-sink, big tub, walk-in shower. Dreamy screened-in porch with day bed; wood-paneled library; formal dining room; two living rooms; 5 fireplaces. Air conditioning on the second and third (i.e. bedroom) floors. Modern, light-filled gym with cathedral ceilings, windows on three sides, large French doors facing over rolling fields; Peloton bike, recumbent bike, treadmill, weights, heavy bag. The property, former estate of famous Audubon Society chief and WW1 aviator John H. Baker, is well known in Dutchess county for its walks, trees, and unique bird-life. There is a separate "cottage" on the property (in the same building as the gym, but with separate entrance on the far side of the building; location is "off-screen" on the left of the aerial photo in this listing), with a shared driveway. This may be occupied during your rental, or alternatively it could be made available as part of your rental -- feel free to inquire about availability. We loved our stay here. The house is much, much better than the pictures. It was perfect for our family get away. It was extremely clean, well stocked with everything we needed, and the pool was wonderful. I also used the gym which is well equipped. The patio, porch and property were all excellent. The listing is absolutely right, it felt like staying in a landmark. Plus this layout of this house is really well done. It is traditional with separate rooms but has an open flow to it. I wish I could come here every weekend. The owners were fantastic hosts. It's a permanent residence so it is fully appointed and has the love and care of someone's full time home rather than feeling like an empty rental property. I highly highly recommend this property.
