Sturgeon Bay Stay

Posted 18-Dec-2015 on Hotels
Great location, close to downtown. Beautiful home built in 1920. Bed and especially the pillows were too firm. WiFi signal was occasionally weak and I had a hard time connecting. No coffee or hot drinks except after 8 am and through breakfast. It would have been nice to have a something available later in the evening and earlier in the morning.

Excellent B&B in Door County

Posted 27-Aug-2015
Pros: The architecture and history, the friendly owner, comfortable room and a great breakfast.
Location: I enjoyed a relaxing walk to Sonny's where I splurged on cheesy breadsticks and a 10" deep dish Chicago style pizza that I'm certain was closer to 12"
While taking the Lake Michigan Circle Tour on my motorcycle a friendly, warm and comfortable place to rest is high on my priority list. I was pleasantly surprised to find this B&B online and even more so when I walked through the door. The home, built in 1902 by a local physician, is a wonderful piece of architectural history. While there's nothing manly about the name of my room, Lady Slipper, it offered comfort any man would enjoy, including the oversized whirlpool tub — perfect after a hard day of riding. The homemade breakfast served in the exquisite dining room was a delicious way to start another day of riding. The Inn is within walking distance of great shopping and dining options. The Sawyer House is a great place to unwind and recharge!

Close to the Bay with nice public walkways

Posted 25-Aug-2015
Pros: We enjoyed the nearness to the places that we came to see and the quaintness of the big house!
Location: It was close to other sights...museums and parks and lots of places to shop. We had our privacy but it felt like being home.
We did enjoy staying at this B&B. It was a lovely old house. The hostess was a very good cook and everything was clean and convenient.

Memorial Day Weekend in Door County

Posted 19-Aug-2015 on Hotels
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It was centrally located for our long weekend in Door County. The room was cute, in and 'olde world' kind of way. Our room was too hot and we were not able to open the windows. The lady of the house assured us that was the 'house temp'. We enjoyed the twin spa in the bathroom. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. We would recommend this B&B.

A B&B that beats most of them

Sawyer House is in a quiet location, convenient to travel routes to all of Sturgeon Bay and all of Door County. The house owner/hostess is respectful, congenial, helpful, and a wonderful cook!
