We want you to be at home at Sundog the moment you pull into the driveway. Cozy, clean and great vibe! This updated (Solar battery backup) cottage with a modern retro flair is in a very walkable location near the General Store, Coastal Kitchen, and main beach access. It is a sleepier section of the village with pastoral views from the fully fenced backyard and if you go to the far left corner of the front deck, depending on the growth of the trees down there, you get a peekaboo view of the ocean. There's even a doggy door for your (smaller) furry friend. We've made the most of this sweet cottage, and it has an open feel and romantic, comfortable decor. Each bedroom has a Queen bed. Solar back up keeps the power on out here, and you know that's a big giant PERK. ABOUT DOGS: We LOVE DOGS (madly, I tell you) and are determined to be able to host them too, however we do have insurance restrictions on breeds (check if yours is a high profile breed), and limit two 2 dogs (3 if they're leeeetle) and 4 people max. Backyard is fully fenced and secure with a charcoal BBQ grill, and picnic table. The birds are almost always singing here. Front deck is huge, with Adirondack chairs and a a pup gate to keep everyone contained. We have the beach chairs, towels, umbrella, blanket, toys and all the things to make you happy down there in the sand. We are clean and peaceful and serene, and hope that is what draws you in to stay with us! Other things to note No smoking (anywhere on the premises). I was delighted that the pictures matched the reality (which sadly is often not the case)! The home was well-appointed, cozy, charming, and clean. The host is so easily accessible and congenial, as if texting to a friend. I can't think of a single thing that would have made our stay more enjoyable. This little place is magical. Deer walk right by you in the field behind the house. Owls hoot at night. The ocean is a block away. Sundog was more than we could have asked for and had everything we needed. Nice short walk to the beach, comfy beds, fenced backyard for our furry children and a fully stocked kitchen including local yummies. Valerie was the best host we have every experienced, kind, helpful and goes above and beyond to make sure you have a wonderful time. This is a must home for a relaxing, lovely getaway. Dec 10, 2024 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### EXCELLENT COTTAGE IN DILLON BEACH We have stayed in Dillon Beach several times, sometimes renting a big house with family and friends, and sometimes a small house with family. This one was absolutely perfect for a weekend there with one teenager and two dogs. We loved being a short walk to the beach, and the cottage was remodeled and perfectly appointed. It was darling! We loved it! (Truly 4 person max; we had 3 this time.). It was great to be able to let the dogs out to do their business in the small fenced in yard, and to sunbathe on the deck. And we ALL enjoyed the beach, of course. It is the best dog friendly beach around, and the remoteness makes it feel like you really got away from the Bay Area. Our four legged friends gave it a gold star, they loved the dog friendly beach so much, no leash required. The beach is huge and we spent two hours walking it with our pups every morning. The cottage is equipped with everything you could possible need and Valerie is an amazing host. You do need to be fairly fit and able as the cottage is up a hill from the beach although it’s only a 5mins walk. You can drive down and pay the $10 weekdays and $15 weekend parking rate. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch in the evenings after exploring the surrounding area and eating lots of yummy seafood. We are Scottish and the area reminded us so much of home. The home was convenient to the beach and having 2 bedrooms was great because we have labs that sleep on the bed (on their fleecy blankets). We live relatively close and forgot a couple things, so when my husband went back to our house I had him bring dog beds and more blankets because despite being a dog home, we couldn’t get the dogs to relax comfortably. The fridge came with a few staple items which was nice, we were able to cook in a couple meals and ate out a couple times… it was nice to drive down Tamales Bay eat at Tony’s… which we’ve always wanted to do with our fur kiddies. It was also great to get up early and spend hours the beach while the tide was out. The wind was insane, so it was only a morning activity but exactly why we chose to stay in Dillon Beach. Sep 18, 2023 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Wonderful, serene cottage- perfect for a getaway at the beach I don't know what to say about Valerie's lovely cottage, because it went above and beyond my expectations. First, Valerie is a wonderful host. She is so personable, inviting, and incredibly professional. I came here with a girlfriend for a solo mom getaway and it was exactly what we needed- restorative, relaxing, and just a happy place to be. The cottage itself is incredibly comfortable, cozy, and clean. There are personal touches everywhere that Valerie has put in place. The beds were very comfortable and the sheets were impeccable. When we checked in there were drinks in the refrigerator and some snacks and fruit for us- really above and beyond. As for the location, Valerie's place is steps to Dillon Beach and the general store and local restaurant. Just a note that the restaurant does close at 7pm and the items in the general store can be pricey, but it's so lovely. The beach allows dogs and Valerie's place is dog friendly, which is amazing. We didn't bring our dog, but I would definitely come back and bring my dog so she can run along the beach. If you're looking for a perfect getaway at the beach in a friendly beach town on the Norcal coast, this place is a gem. Thank you, Valerie for such a wonderful stay. ##### Yvonne C.
