great place to stay
great place to stay and the hosts Tommy and Dianne couldn't have been more helpful. Just a short walk to the town through a beautiful park area.

the welcome was lovely. As soon as we arrived we were offered a cup of tea. Both Diane and Tommy were very welcoming and friendly. The room was very clean with tea and coffee making facilities and a small fridge. The Clydesdale would certainly be my first place to book if and when we revisit Paignton.

To be welcomed “would you like a brew” on our arrival completely made my wife’s and myself mind we had chosen the correct place. Lovely couple run this guest house. Was spot on for location and also benefitted from being in a quiet road. Easy walk to the beach and town. Look forward to going back.

A lovely stay , with Diane and Tommy .
Lovely , friendly , guesthouse . Breakfast was delicious . Comfy beds too . Would recommend to anyone . Paignton promenade a very short walk away and plenty to do and see . Paignton zoo is awesome .

We enjoyed our short stay. The location is handy for the beaches and the house clean and comfortable. The owners are such lovely hosts, you couldn't ask for more. What a lucky find.

Mine host's were as far as I'm concerned most charming and obliging,,my room a single was on suite was more than adequate with the usual tea,coffee,TV.Breakfast well cooked and presented(ordered the evening before) added facility was offered if I came back in the afternoon there was cake available don't know if this offer is open to all but it should be.. All in all a very pleasant stay highly recommended

Lovely homely stay
What a lovely find. Tommy and Diana are a lovely friendly welcoming couple. We got greeted with tea and homemade cake when we arrived. They made us feel really welcome. Lovely cooked breakfast every morning. The bed was so comfy we struggled to get up most mornings. Wich was lovely. Would go back again. Highly recommended.

A Wonderful Stay
The people who run The Clydesdale are fantastic. Nothing is too much trouble and they genuinely want your stay to be comfortable and memorable. I stayed the night before my birthday and even had a birthday card on the breakfast table in the morning! The room was spotlessly clean, the bed was comfortable and I had a superb sleep. Breakfast was a real treat with quality ingredients used in the cooked food, plenty of toast, hot drinks and juices, yogurts etc. A wonderful start to my birthday weekend. I cannot fault anything about my stay and would highly recommend this place if you want quality accommodation at a sensible price.

a relaing 5 days in paignton
a friendly welcome on arrival with a welcoming drink, nice room very spacious for a single and very very clean. breakfast was tasty and lots of choice and was always warm and tasty. hostess and host where very helpful when wanting any information and it was a short walk through the park (10 mins) to local shops, bus station and train station.i would recommend this to solo travellers couples and families

Home from Home
Delightful owners - very welcoming and the hotel is like a real home from home. Excellent quiet location close to town and beach. Ample parking. Wonderfully comfortable bed. A very relaxing place to stay.

Excellent Stay.
We had a very good break at the Clydesdale Guest House. A warm welcome from Diane and Tommy. Comfortable room. Spotlessly clean. Delicious breakfast with a good variety of choice. Nothing was too much trouble.

Happy and welcoming hotel
My friend and I were made very welcome and had lovely rooms. We were told about places of interest nearby and where to get buses from. Nothing was too much trouble.

Weekend in Paignton
I took my mum to Paignton for an overnight stay at the Clydesdale. After being stuck in traffic for what seemed like an age we were instantly made to feel welcome upon our arrival. The room was clean and to our liking albeit a little strange to have the shower cubicle separated from the bathroom. The room had a lovely little private courtyard that we could sit outside in which was a nice touch. Although a nice stay and a lovely breakfast they were having WiFi issues so could not connect to the Internet but wasn't that big a deal overall. Would stay again for sure!!!

We enjoyed our stay. We found parking difficult the first night as the property was full. Had to walk some distance to park. Shower was difficult needed handles for safety.

A well run B&B in good location

Pretty average hotel, get what you pay for. Hotel staff very friendly and don't make you feel obliged to have breakfast. Room was quite cold at night and you can hear everyone's conversations through the walls. Shower was good though, usually the B&B's in Paignton have rubbish showers that are either boiling hot or freezing cold, but this one was easy to use and very good. Bathroom was small but clean and bedroom was okay sized for what we paid for. I'd give breakfast a 5 out of 10 as was average. They gave a variety of ways you can have your eggs cooked, although i asked for poached the egg was cooked through so might as well have had a boiled egg. The breakfast times are between 8:30 - 9 however breakfast wasn't actually on the table until after 9. You may also have to share a table with another room. We only had breakfast once. There is also a sign in the bathroom advising to put towels that you would like washed in the bath/shower, so we put all our towels in the shower and went out for the day, came back quite late and they were still there so had to hang these up to dry which was quite annoying. The next day we didn't bother but when we came back the bin had been changed and the bed made... Overall okay and would stay there again. Just wouldn't have breakfast and won't leave the towels in the bath, haha

We were greeted with some lovely coffee and we're then shown to our room. The room was pleasant, breakfast was very good and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely go back again.

A nights stay
On arrival was told we were not meant to check in until after 6 pm but on invoice said 2pm. The owner said it wasn't a problem though and showed us to our room. The room was ok but not what I would see as a 4 star. Breakfast was good. Bed was hard and pillows uncomfortable for us but others may like that. The area is good for walking to town and the sea.

My room was disappointing for a 4 star.
Tiny double room and miniscule bathroom. Smallest TV ever. Clean and quiet. Ask not to go in "the small double room". Other rooms may be ok.

sehr zu empfehlen!
Ein ideales Zimmer für einen Urlaub und nur 10 Minuten zu Fuß vom Zentrum entfernt. Es ist sauber und die Vermieterin besonders nett.Leider hatten wir nur Zeit für eine Nacht.
