Great B and B.
Very friendly and welcoming, the room was very clean and comfortable with a modern layout.The breakfast menu was also very satisfying with an inclusive list of items available.Well worth the money.

Great location as able to walk into Ilfracombe. Car park at the back. Lovely choice for breakfast. Friendly, chatty host. Clean, comfortable room with tea/coffee making available

One of the nicest B and Bs we have ever stayed in. Very friendly and approachable host. Clean and comfortable room, recently decorated. Amazing breakfast - huge fresh fruit salad, well-cooked and tasty full English, lots of choice. Very good value - Lynne should charge more!

I found the the service and facilities were perfect i had a family suit as there is 5 of us which was hard to find but the Sherborne lodge catered for all the breakfast was amazing and next time i visit ilfracombe i will definitely stay there again

Dog Friendly.
Nice Hotel, with really friendly staff. Plenty of onsite parking. Room excellent, modern and clean, breakfast very good and even treated our dog to sausages every morning. Nothing too much trouble for staff. 5 min walk to town, harbour and coastal walks. Would highly recommend.

We stayed a night at the Sherborne Lodge and it really was lovely - the room was very clean and comfortable. They supplied everything that you needed. The breakfast was outstanding and there was so much to eat. All the staff were really friendly. Will definitely go back and stay.

Definitely won’t be going back here!
Positives: clean cosy room and very nice breakfast. Negatives: very run down bar with a make do bar that only sells cans. Owners son getting “stoned” on cannabis and thinking it’s acceptable for his friends to be in such a state to take up the only toilet in the bar to stay in there for half an hour, vomiting and another one of his friends, who I could only describe as looking like someone from crocodile Dundee to start insulting us because me because I was welsh! 😡

Room was very clean and tidy. Quality however left a lot to be desired. The double bed was basically an IKEA bed and very uncomfortable. The sort of thing you’d put in your spare room at home not as part of Your business. Breakfast was between 8.30 and 9.30. We got downstairs at 9.15 and got asked what we wanted before we’d sat down. Lots of choice however very basic food. Jams and marmalade’s were happy shopper and all cooked breakfast items were low quality. Shame as the host is a lovely lady.

Scaffolding surrounding the building, Whole place stinks of cigarette smoke, VERY outdated decor with the wall paper hanging off, Toilet in room made awful noise when flushed. Good choice of food for breakfast, the cooked food was good...

Not going to stay there again.
Room was good size for 4 people. 15 min walk to main part of town. Very old fashioned, stairs uneven and thin for top floor. All doors squeak and need wd40, can hear every shower or flush of The toilet. Someone had loud music and talking, even after a complaint at 1.30 in the morning, it went on till 4.30. The breakfast was awful.

We arrived late for our check in and owners got her son to let us in which was very move and flexible of them. Our room was spacious and the beds where clean. The main light in our room didn’t work however and the toilet had problems flushing. We had a great breakfast everyday which was nice and was able to eat vegetarian without a prob. We was out all day so only really slept at the hotel. The room decor though put the place down abit and the furniture could do with replacement just add more neutral contrasts to the rooms instead heavy mixed colours that take away it’s beautiful character. From what I’ve read the hotel is a work in progress in regards to the decor. But can’t complain for what we paid free parking nice hot breakfast hot water and clean towels. Stone throw from the local harbour which was great as we where on a fishing trip. Staff very welcoming and made us laugh throughout our stay. It does have a strange smell though in the hall ways but I guess the carpets soak up all the cigarette and dog smell, I’m allergic to dogs though and didn’t gave too much of a issue so hotel is clean. I would stay again but not as a first choice.

Short few days away
A nice couple of days with a very warm welcome. Breakfasts kept us going all day. The walk to the centre only took a few minutes and it was good to know that the car was parked safe all day.

Sherbourne lodge stay April 2017
A weird welcome as the team was decorating but they were friendly and warm. the room and beds were excellent and clean. The TV in the room was a bit tiny and not easy to view from the far side of the bed. The hot water tap didn't work, it needed changing but being on a Sunday it was difficult to get parts but it was noted and being sorted. The slopping bathroom took us by surprise lol. Breakfast was really nice and tasty and a large selection to choose from. All the hotel staff and family were really nice people. Wifi connection would have been nice to have but im being really picky here

Worse than a third world hotel
We stayed in room 4,floor very sloped-difficult to sleep. Sliding door to shower-room trapped your fingers, shower mouldy, shower room floor covering was heavily stained,toilet brush had faeces from previous occupiers. Extra blanket had moth holes. Would not recommend this Guest House to anyone.

Sherbourne was good value. Service was good and proprietor friendly and helpful. Within 10 mins walk of town and 20 of harbour. Location off main thoroughfare and quiet.

Avoid this Guest House
Unfriendly, unkempt staff, they complained that we hadn't arrived by six o'clock (nothing in the booking to say we had to!) and then left us on the doorstep ... hotel smelt musty and dirty on arrival. After we explained that we had been driving for twelve hours there was no acknowledgement just a curt and short tour of the hotel. The room was damp (large patch on wall) as was the bedding - we had to dry the sheets with a hairdryer. The only acceptable thing about the whole experience (which I would not like to repeat) was the breakfast which was adequate. At £85 a night it was extortionate and I'm not surprised it wasn't full.

The hotel is really clean with ample parking for all guest. The owners are fantastic and really helpful. Unfortunately one of the owners was ill during our visit but that didn't seem to change the experience or helpfulness of the owners. The breakfast is massive so make sure your hungry and the quality is very high. You are allowed to bring take aways back to the hotel and a little guest dining room is provided for this with a fridge and microwave. There is also a bar at the hotel but unfortunately this was closed due to one of the owners being unwell. Overall the hotel is fantastic and the service offered for what you pay is well above what is expected. You won't be dissapointed.

The Sherborne last Saturday
We stayed overnight last Saturday. We needed to get into our room earlier than usual - this worked perfectly. We were disappointed that our twin room was not en suite - this fact was not explicit when we booked. The bedding smelt dank and the breakfast room smelt of cooking and a lack of air. We did not see the owners and were not disposed to complain to the lady who let us in and served us breakfast.

Friendly, comfortable, excellent breakfast
Very good location away from the hussle and bussle of 'tourist life' yet was only a short walk down a gentle incline to the promonade and harbour. Ideal as well since it had its own car parking area which makes a huge difference. Highly recommendable.
