We typically recommend taking an Uber as they are very popular in the area and always less expensive that a normal taxi. You can definitely take a short walk to the beach, and it is almost always easier than driving around looking for parking! Other Things to Note: • SolMate is pet friendly! Just pay the $200 pet fee before check-in and you can bring up to 2 dogs. • Golf cart is not available for use for those 25 years or younger. We happened to get the coldest four days in the area in December, but because we added on pool heat, we were able to enjoy swimming and relaxing in the backyard oasis despite the outside temps in the 50's. The pool was 92 and awesome! I noticed right away that unlike in many properties, there was not one sign stating "don't do this, or do this" anywhere in the home. In other words, communication was through email instructions but the home felt like home! Garbage was easy, location was amazing, and having the golf cart rental arranged was extremely convenient (and we used it every single day multiple times). We had everything we needed and the owners were extremely quick answering any questions. We loved it! ##### Christine M. The house was amazing, even better than the pictures. The back yard with the pool was like a Sun Trap having the carriage house was an added bonus and a Ashley being a dog friendly home we could bring a four-legged friend. Location was perfect three minutes to get on the beach. Great restaurants within A few minutes drive. The golf cart was fun and useful for going short distances. As a family of seven, having two separate living spaces was great. My husband and I used the carriage house while my FIL stayed in the main house with the kids. Oh my gosh, if you have kids, you know how nice it is to have that little degree of separation. During the day, we were in full-on family vacation mode. We spent our days enjoying the beautiful beach and venturing out to enjoy some of Destin's fun attractions. We spent our evenings relaxing in the private, heated pool. At night, family vacay turned into a couples getaway. The best of both worlds! Some things we really appreciated about our stay at Sol-Mate: outdoor speakers (really upped our fun in the heated pool) clean and updated appliances lots of extra beach towels and gear (chairs, buckets, shovels, etc.) board games (handy when it rained) fully stocked kitchen rocking-chair front porch (Sol-Mate is on one of Destin's less busy streets so sitting out there watching the rain was quite relaxing) the short two-block walk to the beach Matthew and Sarah take great pride in their property. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was enjoyable. With Destin 2019 in the bag, we are already planning for Destin 2020 at Sol-Mate. ##### Chad G.
