The downside to where the unit is specifically is the proximity to the pool. Quiet hours start at 10 but intoxicated individuals donā€™t abide by that. Also with the perk of being ground floor is the noisy upstairs neighbors. The appliances were all really outdated but worked. I feel like we didnā€™t spend enough time in the unit other than sleeping that it really mattered. The king bed could definitely use an update, our backs are killing us after a week. BLUF no one should rent this condo until it is renovated to current housing codes and local safety standards. I paid $1,132.72 + VRBO fee 133 = $1,265.72 + Towneplace Suites $326.34 = Gran total $1.592.06 for a horrible weekend. I do not trust Realjoy Vacation or VRBO!! First impression upon entering the condo, musty smell from the extremely old carpet, condo was not properly clean (dusty, dirty) toilet was dirty, bathtub would not drain properly, living furniture is old, worn and dirty. The old wooden sliding door did not have a proper lock mechanism to secure the door, it had a 1/2" X 6" X 2' something board to secure the door. The kitchen bar stools cloth seat were old, worn and dirty. The AC was not properly cooling the condo and not strong enough to cool the bedroom - my wife refused to stay there on our second night. I checked into a Towneplace suite in Ft Walton on Saturday night. I advise realjoy Vacations of all of my issues - they apologized but took no action. I requested a refund and they declined - they suggested to decline the refund so that the unit could get reposted and a possible refund. Sounded good but its treachery on getting me to decline on a refund. This unit should be banned from VRBO until it is renovated to current code standards and not the 70's worn furniture and AC unit it has. This was a horrible experience for my wife, family, and myself. I should be refunded. I would appreciate someone from VRBO to contact me. ##### jose G. The private beach is amazing and having the chairs and umbrella setup is one less thing to worry about. Thatā€™s the positive aspects and now for the rest of the storyā€¦ The chairs and umbrella arenā€™t available until 9:00am and are put away by 5:00pm so you pay for an extra day (check-in or check-out) that you donā€™t really get to use them. The biggest issue it that the sliding doors to the patio/beach do not have functional locks. I called maintenance as soon as this was discovered. They sent someone out while we were gone and they ā€œlockedā€ the door; unfortunately, a firm tug on the handle and the door still opens. I called maintenance again and convinced them to bring a safety bar so I could secure the door. They dropped off a 1x6 piece of wood (not cut to size, but better than nothing) and assured me that maintenance would be by the next morning to fix the lock. They never showed up or called back. After looking back at review for this property it appears that the broken lock at this unit has been a known issue for months. Also mentioned in a previous review, is a broken toilet paper holder. Itā€™s still broken after many months. Two of the four burners on the stove do not work. The outside of the refrigerator is rusty. The bedroom doesnā€™t have curtains or drapes so the pool lights shine into the bedroom at night, which may keep you up thinking about the horribly uncomfortable mattress, wondering why the carpet smells, or counting how many more times youā€™ll need to restart the dryer to get a single load of laundry dry (3 is the number). Itā€™s clear that the owner and management company do not care about the condition of this unit. Friends of ours stay at another unit in the complex and did not have these issues. My advice: do not rent Crystal Villas A3. ##### Jim R.
