Although the room was clean, it was noisy and cold during the night. We stayed in room eight across from Harpurs hotel in the old building. Only one chair provided to sit and have a cup of tea. Breakfast was dear at £15pp on top of our hotel stay. !!!!!!! Would not stay there again.

The TV didn't work, reported to staff never got resolved. The electronic blinds also never worked plus there was no desk to work on - not suitable for business purposes of which the accommodation was booked for

Lovely small hotel in beautiful Melbourne. Only disappointment was no breakfast served on a Monday and very little choice of a nowhere to eat on a Sunday night. The beauty of the stunning little town made up for it though.

I liked the internal layout of the accommodation which was like a small appartement. I didn't like having to cross the road to the main building for meals and drink.

Both rooms were very nice and spacious and clean We had a room over from the pub and was faultless while our friends had a room in the pub itself the only downside was the fact the heating wasn’t working and the staff couldn’t fix it so as you can imagine minus temperature outside and no heating inside they went downstairs to ask for help but the issue couldn’t be fixed Apart from that everything was fine and it wouldn’t put us off from staying there again

Good but expensive considering some of the faults
I had a good stay but was surprised to be led to a terrace of cottages, albeit very cute, across the road for my stay. Nowhere in any literature did it mention this. I was on the ground floor, the room was lovely with a little kitchenette and a bathroom. It was fitted out very well. I had planned to get room service that evening but this was not an option. I know that I could have gone out but as a solo traveller I didn’t want to do this. I just had a couple of niggles which I felt for the price I paid should’ve been better; A loose toilet seat. Cheap lumpy pillows, the bed was lovely but the pillows were so uncomfortable! Every time someone came in or out of the front door, my door rattled loudly as it was right next to the front door.

Midlands oasis
Place was clean, cheerful, helpful with good food and beer. Some road noise early in the morning and the odd plane from East Midlands airport in the night but a bargain compared to staying there.

Excellent value, friendly and attentive staff, good food (Veggie). A bit disappointed they don't serve breakfast on some days but they suggested a very acceptable alternative location. I am sure we will stay again and the lesson I have learned is that I will ask if we can avoid certain tables in the restaurant.

Lovely accommodation
Lovely little village, the hotel was lovely and comfortable and very clean. The staff were helpful and friendly. It did get a bit noisy in the evening as the rooms are above the pub, but once it closed it was very quiet. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely rooms with excellent service. Would certainly recommend if you are in the area. If you are planning on eating there I would suggest you book in advance as it was certainly popular. Despite being really busy the noise did not travel and the room was still quiet.

Excellent for Donington RaceTrack
A friend and I stayed at the hotel whilst attending the British Super Bikes weekend at Donington race track. I was in a room away from the main hotel which like a small apartment and it was very good. My friend stayed in the hotel and the room as very good but the water for the shower was intermittent.

We stayed in the annexe room across the road from the main building which was perfect in every way. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The full English breakfast was made to order and was served piping hot. A really good stay thankyou.
