Chirping smoke detector
Short story- don't stay in room 230 here.
Long story- checked in headed out. Came back 10 pm to find 3 sets of towels for 4 ppl reservation and smoke alarm chirping. Maintenance "fixed" alarm, more towels, went to sleep...until about 4 am when alarm started chirping again. When we advised front desk of problem about 8 am, we got "sure, no problem, I'll have someone fix it."
Not "I'm sorry, let's get you a new room."
Came back around 6 pm because we had early flight next am, had to return car, necessitating early wake up. But we didn't really need it because the smoke alarm started chirping again at 11:30 pm.
4 am visit with the desk clerk - no kind of compensation or amends, or apology, because we booked with Expedia, and Expedia had my money, not Holiday Inn. Had to call manager on Monday, who reiterated the same excuse, apologized, and comped us 5,000 points. (Forgot to advise him about the red crayon and cheezit found under the sofa bed, and some one else's luggage left in the closet. Maybe he'll see it here.)
Moral of the story? I will never book with Expedia again. Holiday Inn Denver Airport can do better.
