Arrived for a check in after 9 pm. Checked in by disinterested front desk agent. Received room key, went to the room to find someone already in the room eating their dinner. Back to disinterested front desk who called maintenance, asking if one room still smelled, or another room still had bugs. At this point I’m checking for other hotels, but since it’s late, the usual apps don’t have room availability. We received a new room assignment. Front desk offered their first apology since this all started. Halls were lined by room service trays that were waiting to be picked up… still there when I left at noon the next day. I guess this is the new “standard” in a post pandemic world.
