Large and bright, comfy high quality furniture and beds with high quality comforters and sheets, roomy stocked bathroom with lush bath towels. On sight laundry within your apartment. On sight and easy street parking. Nice back yard, with plenty of room to read a book, for dining, and enjoying the lovely Denver evenings! Within the historic neighborhood of Park Hill are several delicious neighborhood bistros, coffee shops, specialty retailers, wine shop, yoga studios, and more! There is also a Rec Center with terrific work out equipment (daily passes available). To the west of this terrific apartment, just a short walk or bike ride, is City Park (Denver's largest park, where you will find lake, boat house, world class zoo and the Nature and Science Museum and public golf course). Just beyond City Park, heading West, you hit Uptown--where there are numerous terrific restaurants and bars and just beyond is the heart of downtown Denver. To the East is the Stapleton Neighborhood, with more shopping, restaurants, oodles of parks and bike paths. We are on convenient bus routes and close to the new light rail that will whiz you to the airport and downtown. I-70 is convenient to the apartment and heading west, you will find all the wonderfulness that Colorado has to offer! The heater sounds like the house is preparing for liftoff it is super loud. You can only use one kitchen appliance at a time and there is no control for the climate so it was too warm. Also it all or nothing for lighting. Lamps would go a long way. The supply of shampoo and conditioner was plenty as well as water and coffee ##### Manika C. Nice space in a great location. The host lives upstairs, so you will hear them walking around, and there is only a sliding door between the host's kitchen upstairs and the stairs that lead down to the unit, so you can hear them washing dishes and talking if they are in there. I think they could use a door at the bottom of the stairs to close off that sound more.My only other issue was the cleanliness of the bathroom - there was a lot of hair on the floor and the clean towels, and the toilet and sink seemed to be cleaned really quickly because there were some spots missed that I ended up cleaning up myself. There was also a shirt from a previous tenant that was left. Overall, very nice unit for the price and location. ##### Lauren W. We quickly decided this place was simply NOT acceptable for our family. There is a locked exterior door (that was open when we arrived) that leads to a set of stairs to the basement. However, there is no door to lock at the bottom of the stairs to separate you from the hosts. Imagine staying in someone’s basement, and the host telling you “they’d lock their access door.” We were not okay with the owner’s simply being able to walk down the stairs to their advertised “apartment.” Not being able to secure our child/belongings was a deal breaker. Furthermore, there was no separate thermostat to control the temperature, and it smelled like smoke. We contacted the host and requested a refund as the lack of security was not advertised in their listing, but they offered no solution and told me this was “normal” for the city of Denver. This, however, was not the case with our previous VRBO where we had a locked door to our unit as well as a thermostat we could manage. ##### Lauren H. The apartment was clean, the beds were very comfortable, and the property was conveniently located. I was just a little disappointed, i probably missed this info on the app, but there was no stove or sink in the kitchen area. Everything else was excellent. ##### Marilyn S. We left after 1 1/2 hours!! Couldn’t even stay the 2 nights we booked because we felt the urgent need to vacate for health and safety reasons. The property is not as described online or in the positive reviews posted here. Arrived at check in time—host was watching TV on couch with 2 alcoholic drinks and a coffee cup—jumped up surprised—said he’d just finished cleaning (also noticed tequila bottle on outside window ledge at entrance to house) Zero security—top of steps leading to basement have only sliding door leading to owner’s kitchen—no locked door separates rental from owner’s part of house. Because host had been drinking, we felt even more unsafe Smelled strongly of cigarette smoke—all four of us left with headaches after 1 1/2 hours Excessively cold—he said we had no temperature control in basement because he needs to keep comfortable temperature upstairs in his house which makes it really cold downstairs—pointed to a dirty blanket on the filthy couch and said we could use that Loud talking and footsteps could be heard upstairs—if this had continued into the night, loud enough to keep us awake Dirty sheets had visible long dark hairs—made us wonder whether they had been laundered Host begged us to stay quiet about our experience in exchange for refunding almost all our money but did not abide by his promise. ##### Maria M. Host lives above, so some noise with people walking around in the late evening. No ability to use outdoor space. Windows would not enable exit in event of fire, so probably would not book again due to that. Listing likely showed these items but we did not realize in advance. ##### Michelle G. Herbie is a great host,communicator and makes your stay easy & relaxing .His home is very clean, has possibly everything you need at hand . Herbie makes you feel welcomed the very minute you meet him and let's you know you will have privacy while visiting. We enjoyed meeting him & the personal touch of showing us around his property. Everything was clean & it was perfect for the 4 of us. There is plenty to do within walking distance or a short drive.
