Nestled in the gated Snowline community, Stargazer Chalet is a spacious log home designed for connection and convenience. With room for up to 8 guests, two distinct living areas, and a layout that offers both communal and private spaces, this home is perfect for group getaways of all kinds. The Stargazer Chalet is nestled on one of the more level lots in the Snowline Community, offering easy access with just a few steps. Inside, you'll find a thoughtfully designed kitchen, a spacious dining area, and a cozy sectional sofa set around a freestanding gas fireplace. Sliding doors open to the deck, perfect for grilling and outdoor entertaining, while the private hot tub awaits, providing a soothing soak after a day of adventure. The main floor also features a spacious ¾ bathroom and a plush king-sized bedroom. Down the hall, a delightful bunk room is accessible through an exterior door that leads to the backyard. Upper Floor: A rustic log staircase guides you to the lively loft, where you can enjoy movies on the flat-screen TV, play games, or simply relax. The upper floor is also home to a luxurious primary suite with a large en-suite bathroom and a quiet reading nook. For added convenience, the laundry room is located on this level, just off the primary suite. Important Notes: Nature: This home is located in a rainforest near the base of a mountain. We have critters both large and small that we share the land with. From Ants to bats, mice and raccoons to Bears and Bobcats, we do everything possible to keep them outside. Please do not leave food or garbage outside, as it looks like a free meal for the wildlife. Technology:WiFI and Cellular Service: Due to the remote location, cable TV, cellular service, and high-speed internet are not available. The home has free WIFI and a smart TV for streaming your favorite subscription channels. There's also cell phone service near Mt Baker ski area. Wi-Fi is DSL and ranges between 4-9 mbps depending on the time of day and how many people are online. \*\*Internet service in the Mt. Baker area experiences intermittent outages and these circumstances are beyond our control. Our area is limited to one service provider and we appreciate your understanding with the following policy: We are unable to offer a refund for accommodations based on WIFI outages, speed or disruptions. Weather: The mountains provide us with so much to offer, but predictable weather is not one of them. Please be prepared for all types of severe weather from excess heat in the summer to heavy rains in the Spring & Fall and Snow and Ice in the winter. It is highly recommended that you bring a 4-wheel or All wheel drive vehicle in the winter. Due to the potential harsh weather, power outages and internet outages happen from time to time and are out of our control. We do not issue any refunds for loss of power or internet. Please prepare for all types of weather when visiting the mountains. Groceries: Large grocery runs should be done in Bellingham (about 45 min away). There are a handful of small mom and pop grocery stops along Mt Baker Highway and we are happy to make recommendations. Restaurants are extremely limited and are not always open during the slower seasons. Please come prepared with provisions. Community amenities: Community amenities—including the pool, clubhouse, and tennis courts—are now open to guests Monday through Thursday only, excluding holidays. Guest access is not permitted Friday through Sunday. Thank you for your understanding! Gated Community / HOA: About Snowline Community Club Snowline is a private gated community that borders the Mt. Baker Snoqualmie National Forest and is one of the closest communities to the Mt. Baker Ski Area. The community has numerous hiking trails both to Glacier and to the Nooksack River, a children's playground and kickball field. The HOA requires gate cards for guest access, has rules for quiet hours, leash laws and a no campfire policy. Parking is limited to the vehicles that fit in the driveway perpendicular to the road. \*\*Please note that your rental may have limited parking availability. Carpooling may be required. Parking is not permitted on roads within the Snowline, Mt Baker Rim, and Snowater Community. Any fines accrued by the HOA in regards to parking violations are the responsibility of the renter.\*\* Luxury Getaways is required to register ALL vehicles that will be present on the property during your stay. \*Pets are NOT permitted at this property. Aug 6, 2025 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Lovely House with punitive neighborhood HOA Were were 3 couples staying here together and celebrating our Father's 95th birthday with family living in Sumas and Bellingham. We all agreed that the house and surroundings were lovely and the log cabin finishes attractive. The towels & bedding and beds were of quality and we all slept well. The furniture was newer and comfortable, we enjoyed playing games on the big table. Overall we enjoyed our stay. That being said, there are a few negatives to note. The internet was down most of the time we were there. We reset the router and repositioned the dish to see if that would help but it really didn't. The upstairs TV would not turn on, and the hot tub was dirty with pine needles and bits of Styrofoam and had a slimy feel. We chose not to get in it. The HOA is ridiculously strict. We not only had to give the make model and license plate number of the 2 vehicles that we were driving, but every single person that came to the house during our stay also had to provide this information. Also we had to meet our guests at the gate because we could not buzz them in with the instructions we were given. We were told that the HOA would charge 300 per violation and that they take pictures of each vehicle as it comes through the gate. We also saw an HOA vehicle patrolling the neighborhood. I usually come up to stay in Glacier during the 4th of July weekend for the quiet and to escape the fireworks. Unfortunately, there were quite a few explosions audible on the 3rd, 4th, and 5th throughout town. Perhaps local ordinances have changed since last year?The cabin is in a busy timeshare neighborhood across from the playground and there is little privacy. The neighborhood was celebrating the holiday as well and it was very noisy well past the quiet hours of 10pm. The cabin itself was lovely, clean, and well-appointed. The communication with the rental agency was smooth, but directions in the emails for things like checking in and out contradicted the written directions we got from the agent upon check-in as well as the directions written and posted around the cabin. I recommend updating the posted interior information because we were unclear on things like waste disposal and how many cars could fit in the driveway. If you are looking for a spacious, comfortable cabin for a family-friendly gathering with good amenities for children, I recommend this cabin in the Snowline neighborhood. If you are looking for a more remote feeling, quiet, and privacy, look further afield. ##### Shiloh I.
