But , I am sorry to say, it appeared the hotel is closing down , or changing hands !! The restaurant was almost non-operable, and the 're-confirmed availability' bar had nothing to offer, or was shut down. On arrival day, order of coffee after long wait, had to cancel as there was no milk in the kitchen. I have to admit that the hotel staff were kind enough to change our room to a suite room when we had problems The only good thing about this hotel is its closeness to most places of interest. Major highlights: - Previous customer's socks were in the washroom of the suite room; - Absolutely no towels in the first day in the suite room and they brought them only after we called and visited them on several occasions; - The blankets looked dirty and some of them had even holes; - The room keys had problems and we had to use the hotel's master key for some time until they fixed the key problem; imagine a master key in the hands of a stranger; - The heaters in the room didn't work at all. We visited in December and the rooms were not warm enough; - One of the TVs in a suite room had its constant problems and we could never use it; - One of the rooms did not have hot water in the morning some days; - They always make mistakes when filling C form. Keep in mind that this hotel is on the outer skirts of Delhi & is a bit of a challenge to find, but it is in a very safe neighbourhood. The room that I stayed in was very comfortable. Bathroom could have been a bit cleaner as the shower head looked a bit modly & the drain was a bit clogged as well. The staff of the hotel is very accommodating & friendly. They are ready to assist you right away should you need anything. I would recommend dining whilst in inner Delhi because there aren't many restaurants near Mantra & the restaurant in the hotel is really nice but slightly expensive for India. Transportation is another hassle. If you plan on seeing Delhi, I would recommend that you take a taxi or uber. It was difficult to find transportation that would take me back to the hotel given it was far. I took the metro from karol bagh to lajpat nagar & still was having difficulty finding an auto to take me. Make sure to call an uber. Even at the Hotel I showed the Manager & when I called hotels.com from the hotel reception, I explained that as per the hotels.com phone app, there is only rooms with breakfast & NO option to book without breakfast. Location was a bit out of the way, in a quiet clean neighborhood; a short (10 minute on walkable roads) walk to New Friends Colony market where food and shops are located. Good water pressure in the shower, good breakfast buffet. The only down side was that the internet was very unreliable, it would frequently go out and take a long time to get back on. Also, our TV stopped working at least four times during our weeklong stay - the staff always responded quickly and got it working again, but kind of annoying. The hotel is located in Friends Colony, a posh walled neighborhood with several other nice hotels and restaurants in walking distance. The hotel was very nice, we had a suite with kitchenette, full western bathroom, separate bedroom and two balconies. The restaurant was open late and served a variety of meal options. The staff are nice and very helpful. Free bottled water in the room (as many as you like) is included and the breakfast is good. If you are American, ask for bacon (yes they have bacon) extra crispy. Omelets and eggs made to order, even pancakes. Like most hotels in India, they turn off the boiler at 11 AM but they are happy to turn it on and in 20 mins you'll have hot water.
