While I choose the Hotel for its location and Vegetarian only restaurant, the room itself was bad- I chose Royal Southern- what a joke - the bathroom is tiny, towels and room itself old and not very well kept.

When I called front desk staff, the front desk staff was rude call me after 10.00 PM/AM. They had no courtesy as customer. Booked for Execute room through Orbitz. But on site the room was not available. When reserved it should be available. Otherwise what is purpose of reservation?

Good hotel for south Indian tourist groups.
It was an overnight quick stopover for a few hours to catch an early flight.This is a known hotel for me over 30 years and hence went back. They must improve their airport transfer services which is paid for and not free.I was combined with another family for getting dropped of leaving at 5am.I was ready 4.55am and they turned up at 5.30am putting me under unnecessary pressure. They must hv a clear policy on timings for combined transport services.In fact I was willing to pay extra for only taking me but front desk suggested combined transport services.

Not worth for the price
Room key did not work. It would open only with master key but not with the key provided by the hotel. It was not rectified for all the three days of my stay. Water in the bathroom would slog. The spring matress is also damaged. It is not worth the price paid

The reception staff were not caring for online booking. I booked highest category of room Royal Southern, but they were showing lower category rooms for the same rate. There is no parking and area is very congested. The food is very very costly there. On the whole not satisfied...

It was a nightmare and horrible stay at this hotel. They need to update the online information otherwise guests will be misguided when they use online booking. Room service is so pathetic and no words for housekeeping. Please do not opt this hotel ever for a vacation stay.

Nice Hotel to stay
Stay was pleasant. But, fullfilment of commitment is poor. Committed to give oneway transfer per booking. after 9 nights stay refused to give return transfer. Reason given was disgusting. Because they give 30% to OTAs they are not able to give transfer. Perfectly against business ethics. Total cost of my stay was Rs.25000/- only room rent. Reason given for Rs.400/- airport transfer.

the hotel was fine however expedia had failed to give the booking to the hotel and we had problems proveing our booking and hotel failed to pick up from airport because we were not in their system due to expedia also we were late due to flight from brisbane late and we were overnited in singapore so we paid for a nite that we didnt use hotel would not refund dissapointed Dareen Quantrill

The Hotel is well located close to New Delhi station and Connaught Place. It is close to Jhandelwalan Metro station. The staff is courteous and helpful. It has got a good restaurant and good service.

Room cleanliness needs to improve a lot. Unfortunately the room given to me was infested with bed bugs. I had to ask for change of room. Linen is only ratotated and new linen is not provided. I am scared to staying again because of the bed bugs.

I have stayed for four day in this hotel, everything is good service and support are quite OK & people working in there are so polite. But some things has to be improved for example the bath room door lock, shower,and the cleanliness of floor and floor corners.

I had stayed at Hotel Southern earlier and this time too, the staff were very courteous and helpful. I was especially delighted as the hotel called me up the day before the stay and organized my pick up from the airport. I requested two rooms close to each other and my request was honoured. However, though I had booked two Super Deluxe rooms, one of the rooms was smaller than the other and I learnt later that it was also used as a Deluxe room. Their travel desk is very good too and I would advise guests to use it and avoid other travel agents located in the same building.

Overall up gradation of the hotel is required.
Terrible, the service is bad, particularly, the house keeping, they provide all torn and dirty towels. When two guests are staying in one room, Hotel provide only one towel. and one soap. No tissue papers. To get replaced it took four phone calls and finally complaining to the reception. The floor of the bath room is very bad - Room No.112.

Annoying attitude of staff
The staff have a sense of entitlement and an extremely annoying condescending attitude. They actually asked my family to adjust when it was pointed out that the bathrooms in the rooms allotted were filthy due to non drainage of used water. The Hotel seems to be suffering from a syndrome of taking the paying customer for granted. The quality of service was much better when I had previously stayed in 2009. Maybe a few customers less would do the trick of inducing better service.

EXCELLENT STAY AT DELHI
The Service provided by the Hotel Management including their Staff was very excellent. The billing, charges were most transparent which I liked most. The Hotel Southern should be recomended to the budget traveller like. For the price of budget hotel, the Guests get three star experience. Even the ancillary services like pick up from the arrival venue to the dropping off to the departure venue even after four-five hours of vacating the room is excellent!! I would love to stay here only whenever I visit Delhi. GOPINATHAN N. C. BANGALORE.

Nightmare
My sincere advice to Expedia is to remove this hotel from your listing, otherwise it will mar your credibility on providing ratings to hotels. In spite of providing specific request to pick up from the airport no one turned up and I had to take a cab to this hotel. They tried to charge me for extra person which I have already paid through Expedia. Only after producing the receipt from Expedia and after 30 minutes of arguing they agreed not to charge. That too happened during my check out despite requesting them to settle my bills overnight and to save time during check out to catch my flight early in the morning. Since the hotel is overbooked they just don't care about the hospitality. They are rude and they shouldn't be in the service industry with this kind of poor hotel management. If you stay here, you need to loose your self respect and for each and everything you need to remind them umpteen times. I changed my room to royal suite when I checked in but it's only namesake called "Royal Suite". Unkempt rooms, full of dust, taps leaking water, only two plug sockets, full of dust on the top of the cupboard, locker not working etc. etc. It was a nightmare and had a terrible experience staying at this hotel. Please do not recommend this hotel until they improve their service.

While the hotel is fine, it appears to be more of a tired property. The deluxe room in which we spent our stay has all amenities like AC, hot water, etc. The room size is comparably smaller than Deluxe rooms at other hotels. The staff is courteous. There is free pick-up and drop to Railway station and on request one can also get a drop to the airport.

Ridiculous Hotel with Poor Staff
Would alert all fellow travellers, not to book this hotel at any cost. Its a big NO NO in Services, amenities, Food and basic courtesy. To put it pointwise : 1. It doesnt have hot and cold water in Summers it only provides boiling hot water straight from overhead tanks at terrace. 2. No options in food for breakfast if you are not a South Indian and even SOuth Indians will also complain on quality of the food. no wonder it is conveniently added as complimentary and even if you want to order anything else they dont have it simply because they dont prepare anything else. 3. SIze of their Royal suite is less than that of what any other good 2-Star may offer in their Executive/Deluxe category. 4. No where you'll find reception as chaotic as theirs, where probably there will be atleast 05 guys who dont know what they're suppose to do. Pathetic, disgusting, ridiculous on all counts. Strongly advised to avoid it.
