Only dogs are allowed. Please inquire before booking as to breeds and associated pet fees. Two small approved dogs or one large approved dog only. \*\*\* With spectacular views of Deer Harbor and the Olympic Mountains to the south, this Orcas Island cottage is just steps from the water and offers easy access for beach combing. The gentle surrounding waters are perfect for kayaking, and there is a dock available to launch kayaks and canoes at high tide - or just carry them down the path and set off from your private beach. Marina View is a spacious one-bedroom guest house, with king bed, a fully equipped kitchen and large living area with vaulted ceiling. Both the living area and dining nook offer south and west views of the water. There is also a twin bed in the living room for an additional guest. Three and a half acres offers ample room for play and there is a large level lawn that is conducive to croquet or badminton. The guest cottage shares the family's vacation compound, but landscaping provides privacy for both parties if the owner should also be in residence. Marina View is within walking distance of Deer Harbor Marina, a convenience market and post office. It's a great location, within 20 minutes of the ferry landing and the amenities of Eastsound. It is also a wonderful vantage point for Deer Harbor fireworks if you are the lucky ones to book this cottage over the 4th of July! The Allen family has stocked it with treats and all the things we needed to a tee. The fireplace was a welcome feature, wood and kindling on the ready. The hot tub overlooking the marina and chairs on the bluff were incredible, I will remember this trip for the entire year and hope to return soon. The home is very private and feels like it's own oasis with a yard, hot tub, and beautiful view. The house itself was spotless and comfortable with huge couches, a large tv, fireplace, well stocked kitchen, and a very comfortable king bed. They provided very detailed instructions and nice touches to make you feel welcomed. There's no laundry list of chores when you leave like many homes, making checkout easy. The cottage was extremely clean, had everything you needed in the kitchen, quiet, plenty of room to roam the property especially if you have a dog, and within 20 minutes of the main community on the island. The owners who live in the adjacent home on the property respect your privacy. We got to meet them and found them to be a delightful couple. Additionally they went out of their way to help us get a ferry at a way more convenient time, by getting up at 7 AM on the day of the last release for space and successfully making the booking. All amenities needed were there. We were warm, safe, secure, and immediately comfortable. Beach is steps away, there’s a lovely patio off the living room with convenient sliding door, and fire place is so cozy. We were greeted by friendly owners next door but they gave us our privacy throughout the stay. I felt very welcomed and would book here again. They even had a welcome bouquet out for us! We watched the Mariners win a game and played games around the kitchen table. Hot tub in good working condition. We had two small dogs with us and they had a great time too. There is a zip line leash between two trees so it’s very convenient to enjoy the yard with the dogs contained but plenty of space. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies. The glassware needed to be washed, and the bedroom tented towards warm on during warmer weather. We each slept on the couch a night due to the heat in the bedroom. I think the thing that took it down a star was the hot tub that was so chlorinated it was really unpleasant to be in…it was a large part of the “price” in my opinion and it was pretty unbearable and not private. Otherwise I would love to return! I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed our stay very much, and it is the second time we stayed at Marina View. It was clean, comfortable, and relaxing. The view and the jacuzzi were such a treat! The cottage was clean, quiet and very comfortable. Orcas Island is a special place. Lots of hiking, water activities, small shops, local artists, and some wonderful restaurants. ( Make reservations for King Fish) The property management team is awesome!! One tip for traveling to this area is check the ferry schedule in advance and book your round trip passage.
