My daughter and I always choose this property it close to family, restaurants, shopping and it’s quiet at night. We have never had any issues with the staff here. Very awesome individuals. It was great to see that the side doors were locked, however we could not use our key cards to get in.

Room was filthy, sheets were dirty, phone didn't work, smoke alarm handing off wall, window screen ripped half off & hanging down, carpet was all stained, couch was stained & had holes in it. Will never stay there again & will be calling corporate. I took pictures of everything.

I have stayed in this hotel for around 15 days with expedia, 15 days with other platform, and not once room service change the bedsheets or towels. Reception guys were very helpful but Manager was very rude. I will not recommend anyone

Had a problem with the TV remote, the power button wasn't working. All other buttons worked on it, just not the power button. Turned it on in the back of the TV, then we were good. Bedside lamp had a burned out bulb. Everything else was good, as usual.

We had a nice stay. Room was spacious and clean. Carpet is starting to show signs of aging and some stains. We had family joining us with a stay. They arrived at noon and unable to check in early in a nearly empty hotel. Kinda disappointed in that.

Stayed here several times, and we've come to realize that the King rooms are in much better condition than the Queen rooms. Worth the extra $5!

Rooms are still needing some work. Our shower curtain would not stay closed due to the way the rod was installed. Otherwise, no other complaints.

We love staying at Hawthorne Suites in Decatur, IL. The King Suite is perfect to have our family come by and visit. Roomy sitting room and furniture make it feel like home away from home. The Customer Service Staff are super friendly and always interacted with us and our pets, who were also treated royally! We will be visiting again.

We've stayed here before, and the room we had then was very nice. This time, not so much. The curtains were falling off the valance, had to use a clothes hanger with clips to keep them closed. There are some outlets by the bed that are powered by the light switch, but the had the clock plugged into it instead of the lamps. Finally, the floor in the bathroom by the toilet is dropping. This made the tile loose, not very comfortable to walk on when stepping out of the shower. One good stay, one bad stay. Not sure if they are going to get a third try.

A low down Dirty Shame
I am sad to report that the rooms were filthy. The stoves and the carpeting on the floors were very dirty. I had to request that I change rooms twice. In the last room, the carpets were not as bad as in the other two rooms prior. However, the stove was very dirty and the bathroom had dirt in the cracks of the corners all throughout the bathroom. The hotel staff inquired initially why I was asking to move after I showed him the dirty carpets and the holes in the desk chair he agreed. He continued to apologize. It is a good thing I brought my own cleaning supplies or else I would not be able to stay there. The bed was comfortable but I did not feel comfortable walking on the carpet and had to wear my shoes. The hotel was on the outside and it looked clean. However, the individual rooms are all together something different. Unfortunately, I do not recommend it unless the staff do a better job of making sure the room and carpets are cleaned for their guest. The carpets need to be removed and new flooring needs to be added. The remote was not working in the last room. I demanded unless this TV is fixed I want my money back. He fixed it. A hotel guest should not have to come to a hotel to clean up their room prior to staying in their individual room.

This hotel was rated 7.5 last week and dropped to 6.5. Out dated, fixtures (bathroom vent) falling off the ceiling, carpet not clean, I won’t walk around without something on my feet. Would not recommend it at all

A nice, spacious room for the price! Check-in was quick, staff was friendly and ready to answer any questions I had. Plenty of fast food and a few restaurants in area, with more just a few miles down the road.

The Hawthorne is always me and my family’s choice to stay at. The rooms are spacious, comfortable,and very airy. The hotel staff is very attentive to the room. It’s a very quiet hotel. I have not heard any noises at night from other rooms. It’s a great place to stay.

Comfortable beds and large rooms make for a comfortable stay. There r stains on the carpet and the facility is worn but what mattered was good sleep. Rate was good . Staff was very responsive to an issue I had and remedied it quickly. I would stay here again.

I actually liked the shower at this hotel. The shower rod was arched (rounded) outward which provided so much more room in the actual shower without the curtain touching you. Sometimes a good shower makes all the difference.

BED BUGS BEWARE
Booked this for our employees that would be working in the Decatur area for a week. They got into the room and found bugs in the beds. This was booked through Expedia Hotels.com and the hotel is disputing the claim and now we have to wait 72 hours for a decision in the meantime we had to go to another hotel and book it for the week we were supposed to be in this hotel.
