The location is quiet and well situated as a jumping-off point for sightseeing in the region. It is a reasonable drive from Rapid City, and we easily spent one day in the Badlands, one day in Custer State Park (Mt Rushmore), and one day going north to hike to the falls and see Deadwood and Sturgis. It is also an easy distance to Devil's Tower in WY as well. The hot tub access was a nice addition to a long day hiking/sightseeing, and the secluded area was very restful. Downtown Lead is just a short drive away, with nice options for food, a little shopping, and a little immersion into the history of the area. For the two of us, the main floor was plenty of space, but there were multiple bedrooms downstairs for larger groups. Parking was easy as well for one car next to the garage - the garage was offered if needed, but we didn't bother.
