This beautifully decorated and modernized 2 bedroom/2 bathroom home is situated on a deep water canal right off the St. John’s River. We are surrounded by Florida's Ocala National Forest and our many beautiful springs. It's a fun retreat with plenty of activities available! Fishing is awesome! You can fish off the dock in the backyard, on Lake George, Lake Dexter, the St. Johns River or in our many creeks and springs. A photographer’s delight! You will find miles of hiking, and off -road vehicle and horse trails throughout the forest. Bring your boat, kayaks and canoes. We have room for your vehicles and trailers on the property. A public boat ramp is only 5 minutes away by road, 10-15 minutes by river. Hunt for deer and wild turkey in season. And in the off season, check out the pistol, rifle and skeet/trap shooting range in the forest. By the way, we are a golf cart community. Bikers, fishers and boaters are welcome! The Villa is also within an hour to many of Central Florida’s attractions including Disney, Universal and the beaches on both coasts. And, within a few miles, you can dine at Drifters Bar & Grill (formerly Blackwater Inn), order pizza delivered from Pizza-Over-Yonder and have breakfast or lunch at the Rose Garden or Sparkys. If you want to eat in, groceries are available from the Triple Z market or the Dollar General Market. Our local VFW Post 9986 has a restaurant/bar, welcomes everyone and has plenty of activities to keep you busy. Astor's brand new Public LIBRARY has all kinds of special activities scheduled every week from painting classes to line dancing lessons! Check it out! Astor's brand new and free RECREATIONAL PARK contains: pickle ball courts, tennis courts, basketball courts, a soccer field, football field, baseball field, children's playground, covered pavilion, a DOG PARK and bathrooms. Please pay extra attention regarding the steps, porch and dock that all children and guests use due caution against accidents. o Guest agrees to assume the risk of injury from the use of these facilities to him/herself and all other guests, whether child or adult. o Only family or friends of Guest shall be permitted on premises- no sublet or assignment of this agreement is permitted. o Guest shall be responsible for all guests and any damage caused during the stay, unless caused by Owner or Owner’s representative or agent. o Guest agrees to lock house when not on premises for security. o Guest will not park or allow guests to park on front lawn. Everything was clean, easy to get to, the porch is amazing, my 3 year granddaughter played out there forever. The boat dock was perfect for our boat, and we fished off the dock as well, The owner was easy to communicate with, gave us a tour when we got there and made chocolate chip cookies. I will definitely keep this at the top of our list if we are in need of a place again. Thanks for a great stay. ##### Carol N. Escaped the WI and MN cold for a long weekend in Fl with some golf/auto racing. Jody was fantastic! Her place was exactly what we were looking for, and the location was perfect. She met us at check in and had baked cookies for us. Explained everything very well. The villa was very clean and had everything we needed. Loved the screen porch and dock area. Brought a few poles with us and caught some fish. Astor was the perfect small town we were looking to stay in (close to our activities). The restaurants are all great, and everyone was very friendly. We had a great time. Looking to do it again next year and would definitely book the Villa with Jody! ##### Mike W. The cookies were a huge hit! This house is set up to just show up and relax! Pool table, fishing, games, just to name a few. The house was well stocked with essentials and little touches you might not expect in a rental property. We had a great time and hope to return in the future! ##### Tiffany B. The outdoor area offered so much relaxation and things to do. Mother Nature had other plans so we could not enjoy all the space but that is beyond anyone’s control. We were greeted with a welcome sign on the door and homemade cookies which was a pleasant surprise. The only issue we had was the internet wouldn’t work great inside but we were able to get service out on the porch which was fine for us. The inside was very clean and comfortable. I highly recommend this home and plan to possibly stay again in the future. Jody communicated very well about everything and we were even able to get in a little earlier than we originally planned. The property was very clean and comfortable. Jody welcomed us upon arrival and gave us a quick tour of the property. We loved the fresh baked chocolate chip cookies.
