Hotel and staff were a disappointment. Had booked a 3 night stay based on reviews listed on this website. When we arrived, the registration desk had our reservation wrong, only two days and wrong location - room versus a cabin. It took a very long time for the clerk to find us a cabin, yet all the cabins around us were empty that night. The cabin was adequate, but certainly not fabulous as advertised. It was dark, dingy, drably decorated. The shower was so small you hit the walls every time you turned. There were no enhancements, not even adequate light to read a book - thankfully due to daylight all night long, you could sit by a window and read there. The food in the hotel restaurant was mediocre. The only thing going for it was the central location, but since Dawson City is so small, that is not a great advantage. We were in Alaska and the Yukon for 3 weeks and stayed in 7 different venues, this was definitely the most disappointing. The hotel was built around 1973, but looks and feels like the original gold rush days of 1898 -99. Maybe that was the intended idea! It fits the realism and the historic milieu of the town very well, which was amazing, However, the attempted recreation in this hotel was not - but that was my personal response.
