Our 4 BR/3BA 1700-square foot open floor plan one-floor home is on the west end of Dauphin Island with a well-equipped kitchen, and amazing views of both the Bay and Gulf. We can accommodate 8 Adults if someone sleeps on the pullout couch (must stay below 150lbs on the top bunk). Included at our house is Xfinity’s highest speed internet WiFi for streaming (or work…). New washer/dryer. Great room has large flat screen with Roku. Dining/Kitchen has large TV with blu-ray/DVD player, and Roku. An additional portable TV is onsite, too. Gas grill out back with outdoor table/chairs, chaise lounges, etc. On a half-acre, our home has its own private sandy beach front perfect for playing or sunning, and a pier/dock where you can fish, swim, crab, or just chill. Bring your boat or wave runners! We have a lift on our pier, too. For those who haven’t visited Dauphin Island before, the Bay side water is calmer and safer for families with younger children and our pier has a swim-up ladder at the end, but if you want the waves, you have private Gulf access right across the street! Use our beach wagon to pull your cooler and gear, or just drive over. We also provide three FREE kayaks and paddles for your use (2 singles and a tandem) - very relaxing to get out on the water on the Bay side. We have a beach tent, coolers, beach towels, and chairs. We’ve also accumulated a bunch of beach toys – buckets, boogie boards, etc, for your use - and a couple fishing poles, too. Completely loaded for a great day at the beach. Master bedroom has a King bed, Master Bath, and private sitting area. Second bedroom has a Queen and shares a bathroom with the bunk room, third has two twins and private bathroom, and fourth has a bunkbed (no one over 150lbs on top bunk). There is a sleeper sofa with an upgraded memory foam mattress that is actually very comfortable. We provide fresh linens for every reservation, including fresh comforters (from our years of renting, we’ve found out that not many rental properties do). And don’t forget Puppers!!! We are dog friendly! Dauphin Island has so much to offer: great restaurants, beautiful beaches, the Isle Dauphine Golf Club, a small aircraft airport, and an Audubon Bird Sanctuary that has a 2.5-mile trail that empties out onto a beautiful beach where you won’t find a lot of people. You can also visit historic Fort Gaines on the island. There is a ferry that travels between Dauphin Island and Gulf Shores if you’re wanting to explore. If you’re an avid golfer, the Robert Trent Jones Trail begins about 30-minutes away in Mobile. And the USS Alabama is docked in Mobile Bay if you want to tour. There is a dog fee and security deposit. Additional dogs are $15/night. If there are any special requests, just ask us. A discount may be applied for stays of 28 days or longer during non-peak season. Come relax in our beach home. We enjoyed the beach, on the bay side, out in the back of the home. The views from the kitchen of the Gulf across the road were great as well.We caught so many great fish of the private dock and enjoyed swimming and kayaking. During our stay, we caught red fish, speck, flounder, white trout and more! Our dogs loved laying on the dock as we soaked everything in. The sunsets were so nice. The back deck and the rocking chairs were great for morning coffee or just chilling during the day. We were able to catch the full big red/orange blood moon on the last night there.The owners were very attentive and communicated well with us. The house was perfect! We loved having the dock on the sound as well as a four minute walk to the Gulf beach access. We didn’t bother with getting a free parking pass for it. We took full advantage of everything our hosts provided—fishing, kayaks, fishing from kayaks, crab traps (my dad was most excited about that prospect, but we only caught hermit crabs, lol. ). All we brought for the beach was our umbrella and swimsuits! There were plenty of beach towels and chairs. It definitely saved us room in the car for the dog and all of his stuff. The house is stocked with all sorts of movies (be sure to check the black cases in the cabinet). “Jaws” was the perfect movie for our arrival night. The house was very comfortable, we all slept so well and the kitchen had everything we needed, including a hand mixer to make frosting for a cake my mom baked at home. The day before we left we discovered it even had cake pans, so she could have baked it there. I really appreciated that it is not on the main island road, so there was no traffic out front. The house is so well-appointed and comfortable! I fixed breakfast every morning and we ate on the large back porch. We took a short walk to the beach each day and I mean short. Took less than 5 minutes. This host has a large beach wagon to haul chairs and towels, and chairs and towels were provided! Saved us so much space in our car. My husband spent several days fishing from the dock with the provided gear! He loves to fish and it was nice to see him so relaxed and in his element! His final cast of the week brought in a 15” black tip shark! On our last day, the ocean was way too rough so we swam in the sound and had a blast! We are expecting our first grandchild and the sound is perfect for little ones! The hosts are super friendly and responsive!! They are absolutely 5 star hosts! If you are looking for a home to completely unplug and recharge, this is it!! ##### tracy b. We went to celebrate my moms retirement and have a low key beach week. We could not have asked for better. The house was perfect. Very clean and had everything you would need. The neighborhood was quiet and family friendly. The pier to the bat was amazing. Picture early morning sunrises with coffee, watching dolphins swim by. We enjoyed kayaking in the bay and walking the gulf side beach at sunset. The owners were super responsive and access was a breeze. First off, the owners were so easy to communicate with and so welcoming. The house was a dream. To tell you how great it was, we drove over 10 hours for the beach and didn’t go on it once the whole week because we had heaven in our back yard !! The house was spotless, smelled fresh and they had everything you could think of. Not having to drag beach chairs 10 hours because they had them there was a relief too. We will be back ! Owners were so helpful and responsive to any questions we had. The home location on the Bay is new for us this year and we loved that access very much. Quick walk to the Gulf beach as well makes this place a top ten location. I think we did it all - beachcombing, kayaking, swimming, countless walks, stargazing and a sunset and or sunrise photo contest that will never end.
