Take it easy at this unique and tranquil 1896 cottage on a 30-acre property complete with a two acre pond, hiking trails, and abundant wildlife. Nestled a quarter mile off the main road, this 8 bed, one and a half bath retreat offers the perfect getaway for outdoor adventure or a restful vacation in serene surroundings. Your home away from home is equipped with all of the modern conveniences. Enjoy nearby Yellowstone Lake State Park, quaint towns, ATV/UTV Cheese Trail, and snowmobile trails.

Your home away from home is equipped with all the amenities you need for a relaxing stay. With 7 beds and a pull-out sofa, and a dog-friendly policy, this home is perfect for families or couples looking for a peaceful getaway. Enjoy modern conveniences such as central ac and heat, a washer/dryer, internet access, TV with streaming, and a fully equipped kitchen with coffee maker, microwave, oven, and toaster.  
  
Step outside onto the wrap-around porch and take in the serene surroundings or cozy up indoors and enjoy a family movie or game night. Board games are provided for some friendly competition.  
  
Enjoy shopping, dining, history and nature at nearby towns. Mineral Point, WI, was settled in the 1830's by Cornish Miners and is home to quaint shops, 20+ art galleries, antiques, historic Shake Rag Alley and Pendarvis. Spring Green, WI, is the original family settlement for Frank Lloyd Wright and historic Taliesin. Dodgeville, WI, is home to Govenor Dodge State Park. Dubuque, IA, located on the Mississippi River, is loaded with history and home to the Mississippi River Museum. Galena, IL, Ulysses S. Grant's historic home, shops, antiques, and a river running through town.  
  
Whether you are seeking adventure on the nearby trails or lake, or simply looking to unwind in a picturesque setting, this Victorian Cottage in Darlington is the perfect retreat. Our cottage is over 100 years old and, though greatly cared for, shows its age in some places. Expect to find some loving wear, quaint aging and charming patina both inside and outside.

Note: Bedroom 1 containing the bunkbeds and the half-bath are located in the basement of the cottage. There is also our residence at the end of the gravel driveway. We, including our two very friendly dogs, are at the property most weekends and throughout the summer.

Guests have access to mowed hiking trails throughout the property.  
  
Extra Parking for boats and vehicles.  
  
The Victorian Cottage is part of a large property that does have our home at the top of the 3/10 of a mile driveway.

Gym: Flex Fitness Center is a short 15-minute driver and offers day/week passes. Please let me know if you would like more information.
