THE STAFF ARE FRIENDLY , it has a nice coffee shop ,unfortunately no meals survived at the hotel ,breakfast needs to be improved ,the place is visited by lots of tourists and travellers looking for affordable accomodation ,unfortunately only one towel is served in the bathroom ,and the hotel security is strict which is good for safely ,any one looking for affordable accomomdation near shopping malls, beach aeeas and embasies ,its suitaable

Spacious rooms

We love our very spacious rooms. It is a rare find in Dar es Salaam. This hotel is comfortable and clean and the staff really makes an effort to be friendly.

When we checked in, there is only a small partial roll of toilet paper in the bathroom. When it ran out and we asked the front desk if we could get another roll of toilet paper, they said no that we would have to wait until the next day. There was no bathmat in the bathroom And the tile was very slick when your feet were wet. We asked if we could get a bathmat and were told no. we asked for an extra towel to use and were told no we could not get an extra towel. Hotel staff showed no effort or concern for meeting guest needs. They could only tell us no you can’t have that or you can’t have this. There was also a list of potential fines for guests posted inside the room. If you left any appliance turned on when you left the room, they would fine you 10,000 shillings per hour. If there was a stain in a towel or a bedsheet, there was fines posted for those things as well. Totally not Customer Service oriented would not recommend anyone to stay here.

My experience at Mayfair hotel was terrible. What is potrayed online is not what you experience .On my arrival, the lady receptionist was very rude and unfriendly .I got assigned a another room since the room i had reserved was given away to another guest. Dirty rooms and unfriendly staff. You have been warned.

I was a little nervous to stay here because of mixed reviews online, but I had a good experience. You are paying more for the location, size of the rooms and for having a fridge and some rooms have a stove. Rooms with kitchen are not fully stocked. if you plan to cook alot it will be good to carry a few things with you. I stayed here for 7 days. The room I stayed in the first day had several things not working(hot water heater, plug for fridge) but the room i stayed in for 6 days did not have any issues. I recommend if possible to check out the room you will stay in before booking expecially if you are picky or staying for more than one day. I believe the mixed reviews online are because some rooms are in better condition than others. Most people tend to give either a very high rating or very low. Also the description of some of the rooms online do not completely match what you get. You need to keep in mind this is not listed as a high star motel. For a single person or couple there are fancier places you can stay in this price range but they are often smaller rooms and might not have a fridge and most will not have kitchen area. This motel has options that have more than one bed which are harder to find that do not feel like a dorm room. You also have a gym you can go to as part of your stay. Breakfast could be better for cost of room. There are not many options for someone not wanting to eat alot of carbs. They do not have good hot options.You can askthem to cook you eggs

Nice place to stay in Mikocheni

Nice place to stay in Mikocheni for a few nights. Rooms are clean and large. Lots of restaurants and shops nearby within walking distance.

Comfortable spot in Mikocheni with local amenities

In a central spot in Mikocheni in between Oyster Bay and Mwenge, 2 minutes walk from Shoppers Plaza. Rooms are large, our standard double room came with a large fridge, sofa, TV. Bathroom was also large and clean. Bed was comfy. Outside of the rooms the hotel does look a bit dated and worn out. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Free breakfast was enough but average. Have had far better and fresher breakfast from much cheaper hotels in Dar.

Stuff seemed asleep at 1pm when request lunch order. Poor service - took an hour when delivering the service. Kitchen had the amenities but not even a single tea bag. Staff told me they would bring me a complimentary bottle of water shortly after the check - in but never came. TV remote wasnt working.

Excellent location - close to shoppers plaza etc, fantastic front desk staff, easy access to all transportation 5ypes - Bajaj, boda-bodas, taxis, dala-dalas, Uber etc, breakfast is ok, good WiFi...... Unfortunately, no standard restaurants in-house for lunch and dinners (except bradfast set up) and some of the infrastructure are crying for maintenance. Otherwise, I enjoyed my short stay there.

You get what you are paying for

The staff was super friendly and skilled, and they tried to make my stay as smooth as possible. Leonardo, one of the boys working there, tried far and beyond to make my stay as pleasant as possible. The hotel is a "typical" old African hotel, which need a serious touch up. (I have rats in my room) But the suite i was staying in (besides from the rats living on top of the kitchen cabinet) was spacious, rooming and in somewhat great condition for an this type of hotel.

Godt centralt beliggende hotel.

Dejligt at være tilbage. Alt fungerede godt. Hotellet har en af de bedste motionsrum i Dar es Salaam. Jeg anbefaler, at man booker en suite - prisen er næsten den samme, men man får meget mere for pengene.
