Family cabin, crystal clear lake. Deck WaterToys 2KingBeds 2 hours from TC Our classic Northwoods chalet is our family cabin, tucked into a private, wooded lot with 150 feet of shoreline on crystal clear Ham Lake. We have knotty pine interior with soaring floor-to-ceiling windows facing the lake, and a large wraparound deck that is engulfed in trees. You can smell the pine, hear the loons call and watch the eagles soar overhead. We spend a lot of time on the deck: grill on the Weber, dine at the table for six, or sink into cushioned seating and view the lake through the trees. It’s perfect for family meals, quiet coffees, or evening star gazing. Our lake’s pristine water is some of the clearest in Northwest Wisconsin. Swim, glide across the water in one of our kayaks our our SUP, or fish from the dock or take out our rowboat with the trolling motor. Play on the lily pad or float on our rafts. Enjoy our private dock. Enjoy fires at our firepit overlooking the lake. We also love to walk the wooded roads around Ham Lake. Our favorite route is right out of our driveway down to Crooked Lake, or continuing to Mail Road and back, or for a five mile loop, all the way around the lake. If you are a cyclist, the area around our cabin is a bicycler’s dream!! Most of the roads are lightly traveled and are great for road biking. Or for mountain bikers, there are several mountain bike/fat tire trails in the area. The Gandy Dancer Trail that runs from Danbury to St Croix Falls is long and flat and works for any kind of cycling. Burnett County, and especially our area, is filled with ATV trails. See here for more information: https://www.burnettcountywi.gov/135/ATV-Trails At night, the pitch-black sky is filled with unbelievable stars—the best places to star gaze are our dock or the driveway. If you are used to seeing stars only from the city, you are in for a treat! Winter is also fun at our cabin. The propane fireplace is extra cozy, ideal for curling up with a book or board game after a day of cross-country skiing or snowmobiling on the abundant trails in our area. There were 6 of us total which seemed to a good amount for the size of the cabin. There are extra beds up in the loft but 2 main bedrooms with comfortable beds and & bedding/towels. We loved the coziness of the cabin that had everything we needed. Because you are up on the hill by the lake, it almost feels like the cabin is in the trees which is fun. We loved the large deck that wraps around the cabin with plenty of seating and the gas grill for quick and easy cooking. We enjoyed some campfires and heard the loons one evening from the lake. Kitchen and living room has open concept so great for hanging out as a family. My boys had a blast using the small row boat with trolling motor and fishing off the dock. They caught tons of small bass and a few big one (3lb and 4lb) and 38" Pike. The lake was nice a clear. One thing to keep in mind is the stairs down to the lake, which was fine for most of us young folks, but grandma needed a little help to get up and down. Steve was so great to work with when we had questions and he even came out to fix a beeping noise, wow, what service. Highly recommend this for your next get away. ##### Deanne M. The cabin was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. We came up with another couple for our final UTV ride of the season and couldn’t have asked for a better location or weather. We started each morning with coffee on the front deck, and it was incredibly peaceful. Steve was great and very easy to communicate with, which we appreciated. This was such a fabulous stay- This cabin is so carefully cared for and immaculately clean, we instantly felt right at home and comfortable-Steve the owner was incredibly attentive and even checked in via email about our arrival and if we had any questions-The beds were comfortable , the living room and deck furniture were so lovely and inviting. We spent most of our time outdoors, and a lovely treat was the AC - what a luxury for a cabin! The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking meals and the grill was perfect.Fishing from the dock was amazing- so we even had a fish fry! The paddle board was a hit with my son!
