Great location and excellent staff. The lobby area, lifts and corridors all looked very impressive and very well kept, however when we got into our room we felt it was very basic and felt quite dated and worn.
It was clean and neat, we just felt that it needed a lot of updating. However for all the time we were in the room it was not an issue and we still had a great trip!
Located a short walk to central station in the centre of the tourist-trash district. Funky decor, small rooms, very comfortable bedding. Fast internet. Great for short stays if you want a central location. I had a room facing the street but it was not particularly noisy because of good soundproofing. Coffee shop on ground floor.
No doubt this hotel has great rooms and is located in a great area. HUGE bathroom as well. Really the only complaint was our room smelled like smoke both of the 2 nights. I complained 3 times to staff, but not much happened as I'm guessing they couldn't find the cause. We'll unfortunately this kept my wife and I up at night, so can't go all the way to 5 stars for this one. Likely this won't be a problem during your stay, so 5 stars if you're looking for a hotel in AMS.
Having just recently stayed here for three nights, upon checkin we were told our room was availabe early which we thought was great......but no, a tiny room in the victoria wing with a view of a brick wall !! but going back to reception we where changed to a much better room top floor in the urban wing, view overlooking central staion :).
One thing we were not told prior to arrival was the deposit of €75, but as we didnt use the mini bar received back minus the city tax when we checked out.
They do have a nice little gym down stairs which is free to use, also sauna and pool but I didn't use them.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Amsterdam.
Nice hotel in a great location. Paid for duluxe room but was a lot smaller than website photos. Room was clean but felt housekeepers only really made the beds as I found a dirty pair of knickers amongst other dirt down the side of the bed
The bustling heart of Amsterdam, this district attracts hordes of visitors teeming from Centraal Station to Dam Square and its beautiful Nieuwe Kerk (14th-century). The oldest part of town, Oude Zijde, is famous for its Red Light District, but the University and the docks bring a different kind of colour and buzz to the narrow streets. Don't miss the Oude Kerk, the Amstelkring Museum or the paintings in the Amsterdam Museum.
