The house was well suited to our family, with toys and books and entertainment for every age. It even had a pack n play and booster for the littles, even though we had brought our own. We used the hot tub and grill, visited Mammoth Cave (twice!) and Lost River Cave and Balance Distillery in Bowling Green. We put our kayaks in at the Dog Creek Recreational area, even though the State Park was closed, since we were there when the water was still high after the spring flooding. Plenty of space to spread out, but still gather together for family fun. The cabin was very nice with plenty of sleeping options for our motley group of 14\. Everything was labelled which was very helpful. Lee resolved any concerns we had quickly. Since we were there in December and it rained a LOT, we spent most of the time checking out the caves in the area and bourbon tours so I cannot comment on the lake amenities. The teens and twenty somethings spent most of their time in the game area. WiFi and streaming options were great. Some in the group enjoyed the hot tub. Kitchen and laundry were well equipped. Great views. One caution the driveway was large enough for our five cars, but rather steep in places. ##### Kevin D. We specifically booked a place with a hot tub but upon arrival quickly realized that the hot tub wasn't working properly (jets had no pressure and it could not maintain temperature). I messaged the owner who was aware of the issues but failed to let me know prior to our stay. It was definitely disappointing for the whole group. My husband and his friend were also looking forward to playing darts but the board (and surrounding wall) was completely wrecked and pretty much unusable. A few other things: all of the beds were rock hard, laundry and dishwasher loads (clean at least) were left from the previous visitors, there were quite a few dirty dishes and utensils in the cabinets and drawers (we always wash things before use when we stay anyways but these were obviously not checked between visits), the coffee maker kept flashing a message that it needed to be cleaned, there was a broken bathroom doorknob that kept falling off, and we used the lilypad mat out in the water but had to clear out a huge group of wasps nesting in it first and the bungee cord holding it to the dock was on its last strands. Overall, it was a beautiful house but it definitely needs a little TLC and maybe a more thorough cleaning service. ##### Jessica A. The cabin was very spacious and accommodating. We appreciated all the extra provisions, and we even had a lot of fun playing foosball and shuffleboard in the game room downstairs! Wax Marina was not too far - where we rented a pontoon and then ate at Buoy’s, which was very good. I would highly recommend Captain’s Cove as a very comfortable place to stay in the Lake Nolin area.
