Unfortunately, the mildew/musty smell was very strong. I wouldn't have been able to sleep down there, my daughter and son in-law used the room. The gates didn't fit the stairs, but the two year old managed it well enough without it. No hot tub. We were able to open the door at the bottom of the basement steps and that's where the foosh ball table was. Washing machine and dishwasher were not working, but we made the best of it. The pontoon was a huge hit as was the fishing off the dock. So much fun and laughter catching numerous sunny along with bass, catfish and a bluegill. Allowing the dog to be with us was great. There were plenty of towels and beach towels. Our 4 year old and 2 year old enjoyed the plastic swing set. I loved the extra room in the on suite with the day bed. Beautiful view of the lake, very relaxing. It's a rustic old farm house with radiator heating and window air conditioning. Over all, we enjoyed our stay. ##### Barbara H. The kitchen was easy to cook in, dishwasher great, fridge is large top fridge over freezer. No ice; we bought ice cube trays at DG in town. The eat in area was roomy, we folded the beautiful table clothes up and set them aside\~ We appreciated fans in each bedroom! The landscape on the lakeside was perfect for the grandkids to play on their own, peddle boat, and swim! We brought a kayak, also rented some in town, and had our own SUP…the pontoon is like an old crest we had owned in Michigan so we knew how to get her to start and did take a ride in! There were plenty of beach towels in the utility room cabinets for us too. The fishing off the end of the dock was amazing!!! BIG sunfish, bass and even baby walleye! Having a clothesline to hang wet suits, towels and life jackets on was so helpful too. We appreciated the wood for an outdoor fire, and making s’mores! The porch area and seating outside was delightful too. Our only wish would have been for a TV that worked. We had a few rainy periods that the game playing was exhausted and we’d hoped to watch a movie together…We were able to piece together cables to get the basement DVR to work, but it was in B/W. Our only other problem we solved was covering a few windows for sleeping\~We did use towels and foil! Thanks for sharing your property with our family! Use of the pontoon was a highlight of the trip. Tons of fish to catch off the dock and even more off the pontoon. Great swimming on the middle of the lake. Lots of breakable Nick-Nacks but was easily able to put them up higher where the toddlers couldn’t reach. Larry was extremely responsive to any issues or concerns. Only downside is that a realtor and huge family stopped by and wanted to tour the house during our stay - we declined because it felt like an invasion of privacy since our stuff was scattered everywhere. The garage door was opened and if we didn’t have the dogs in the house they might have done it anyways since they said they saw us on the pontoon but we were on our way back. Only recommendation would be to have an updated TV in the basement for movies on rainy days - the TV/VCR wouldn’t work properly. Also, the outdoor grill is older and the heat source isn’t very strong if you plan on grilling anything outside. Loved the stay otherwise! ##### Brittany N. We were a group of 8, 4 adults, 4 kids (ages 10-6) + 2 dogs. Beautiful well-equipped home with lots to look at and gorgeous lake. Kids had a blast fishing, swimming, playing games, eating s’mores around the fire pit. House was very clean with plenty of a/c and fans. Plenty of room to set up a volleyball court in the front yard. The lake side yard had two patios, one was perfect for meals and lounging, one had a fire pit. We set up a two tier croquet court,hung 4 two person hammocks, and still plenty of beach area.
