Hut 35 is one of five beautifully modernised and renovated Nissen huts that are part of the former Cultybraggan Prisoner of War Camp, just a mile outside the picturesque village of Comrie.Nissen huts were commonly used in PoW camps across Britain during World War Ii. While they were only intended to be temporary, Cultybraggan Camp lived on after the war as a Mod training centre for more than 70 years. Every building tells a story and this one certainly has a rich history! Hut 35 is one of five beautifully modernised and renovated Nissen huts that are part of the former Cultybraggan Prisoner of War Camp, just a mile outside the picturesque village of Comrie.Nissen huts were commonly used in PoW camps across Britain during World War Ii. While they were only intended to be temporary, Cultybraggan Camp lived on after the war as a Mod training centre for more than 70 years. It’s now the last remaining Prisoner of War Camp in Scotland and has been named by Historic Scotland as a Unique Heritage Asset of International Value.Thanks to the vision of the Comrie Development Trust, which now owns the camp, five Nissen huts have been transformed into spacious, sustainable and modern self-catering accommodation.
