Admittedly there had been a lot of rain and the entire yard had turned into a bog that turned to mud when you tried to walk on it. There was no path to avoid the bog so ladies shoes were ruined. Also, if you choose to stay upstairs and downstairs there is no internal access and you had to walk around the entire house to get there - yes through the bog.
