Fire up the grill on the balcony and watch the sun set on the pacific horizon. This newly renovated upstairs flat is luxury throughout. This beachside flat has a modern feel that will be great for families to enjoy the Northern California Redwood Coast. It has a full upgraded kitchen, living room with a smart tv, luxury bathrooms, washer and dryer. The master bedroom has a king size bed, the second bedroom has a queen bed, the third bedroom has two double beds and the fourth bedroom has two twins. There is room for everyone! Perfect location for a beach trip with it being a five minute walk from the closest beach access point. It is just 10 minutes away from the south entrance to Jedidiah Smith Redwood State Park and to the Northern Portion of Redwood National and State Parks. The biggest highlight is definitely the view — it’s stunning. The appliances are also newer, which is a plus. However, potential guests should know that this is a duplex, and you are staying in the upper unit. It’s located on a side street with a unique atmosphere, and we did notice quite a few homeless individuals walking by during our stay.Inside the home, there were several things that could use attention. The cookware, for instance, is extremely worn — the Teflon pans are damaged and really should be replaced. The 180 cleaning fee felt excessive, especially considering guests are asked to start a load of towels and strip the beds before leaving. We are tidy guests and struggled to see what the fee actually covered beyond trash removal, which we took out our selves.Other maintenance issues included: broken blinds, stained comforters, a broken lamp switch in the king bedroom, and a toaster that doesn’t function.With better attention to detail and more hands-on management, this could be a truly great property. The potential is definitely there — it just needs some care. ##### Lindsay B. I was surprised to find that it was not an "entire house" as stated in the listing, but rather the top floor of a 2-flat. We are quiet and fortunately, the people staying below were quiet as well. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook dinner and breakfasts (salt and pepper available but minimal other spices, FYI). Master bed was very comfortable (didn't even go in the other 3 bedrooms!). The only issues I would alert others to are there was no soap/shampoo in the shower (we had our own anyway) and the apartment has radiant heat and on the evening of arrival it was cold and rainy and it took until the next morning for the apartment to heat up to our preference. After that, it was fine. But given the nice furnishings, great location/view, and comfort, I highly recommend this apartment for anyone visiting Crescent City. ##### Phillip J. The deck was great for a morning cup of coffee or a drink for sunset! Within walking distance to beaches, downtown and the lighthouse, and within driving distance to a ton of great trails in the redwoods. Property was clean, well-maintained, and well-stocked (we stayed for 10 days and did not need to buy more toilet paper, trash bags, dish soap, etc.). We loved how much space there was, we really loved the great view of the ocean, and my kids also loved the variety of board games that were available. There was plenty of room for our family of 6 and the whole house just felt very homey. We did have an issue with the Wifi but it was handled very quickly. The only bad thing I would say is that I wish it had ceiling fans and blinds in all of the bedrooms. Other than that I would 100% recommend. ##### Sunshine B.
