Cally Palace Hotel & Golf Course

Cally Palace Hotel & Golf Course

8/10 Good
"I would suggest that the procedure of self service specifically with the fries, mushrooms, bacon etc .should be carefully changed. While having breakfast I was aware of a guest sneezing six times into her hands (no handkerchief or similar being used) then I noticed she proceeded to help herself to the fries section. In other word it is quite possible that this lady therefore infected all the serving utensils she touched and therefore there was the possibility of infecting nearly everyone in the dining room. Certainly a couple of self service hand sanitizers would not go amiss. I would certainly use one of the handy napkins at hand. It is something that I think should be given some thought. The Ship Inn

The Ship Inn

10/10 Excellent
"Parking was in the street outside the hotel and not a problem. The room was large and spacious and the bathroom was spacious with a great overhead shower. The bar was very large and plenty of room in the restaurant. Best to book a table as it gets busy with locals. The staff were very helpful, attentive and the menu had a good selection and the food was very great. Can recommend the fish and chips or the Sea bass. The breakfast was in the restaurant and cooked to order with plenty to choose from. The Ship Inn has a beer gardens just across the road with views over the river. It’s also a short walk to the town/village and the old Mill is well worth visiting as it has a good history of the town and a nice cafe. I would also recommend driving towards the small war memorial and then taking the road sign posted to a parking area with amazing views across the area. Although the stay was a bit pricy I would have no problem staying again if in the area."
