We had a really nice stay at the Copthorne - reminding me of the lovely visits that we had had their in the past.
Over the last 15 years, my family and I have stayed numerous times at the Copthorne Gatwick and we have
always enjoyed our stay. The rooms are large and comfortable. The bathrooms are more than adequate (not
as modern as some places but clean). The dining room is lovely - especially the half of the room that is more
like a conservatory. The playground is nice for the kids and my grand-daughter had loads of fun on the slide
and swings. Parking is easy enough. No complaints at all. The front desk staff is like a lot of front desk staff
at larger hotels - not particularly friendly but polite enough to get you through the check in an check out process.
Looking forward to our next visit.
The hotel is being refurbished and this was not mentioned on the website and I was unaware, so a lot of noise from the workmen. The air conditioning did not work, and I had to change rooms after insisting. I was given a fan and told initially that there was no spare room. I persisted, and was given another room , but could not work during the day, as workmen noise . The spa and sauna were not available as being refurbished, but the swimming pool was fine. Overall disappointed as if I had known about the refurbishment, I would have not booked. They should make this information available.
We stayed at the lodge the night before we had to fly home. The woman working was just lovely and allowed us to stay in the breakfast room after checkout until our taxi came. Great local pub around the corner, too!
