This suite is part of a larger property (shared with a main house) that overlooks the serene waters of Penn Cove, but you'll have your very own barbecue area and outdoor seating among the trees. Whether you're traveling to the island to write, relax, or indulge in a bit of romance, you can spend your days kayaking and paddleboarding from the community's nearby private beach, or curling up with a movie, a book, or a board game by the electric fireplace. What's nearby: This elegant studio is located on a property that overlooks Penn Cove, just up the road from a community beach and three miles east of downtown Coupeville’s fine restaurants, shops, docks, fairs, and festivals. You'll also have wonderful access to the stunning waterfront hiking trail at Ebey's Landing (five miles west), Fort Casey State Park (six miles south), the ever-popular Whidbey Pies Cafe at Greenbank Farm (nine miles south), and darling downtown Langley (24 miles southeast). Things to know: This studio is on the property of a main house with an upper level and a lower level that can be rented as well; the entire property can be rented as Rhodena Beach Cottages Free WiFi Kitchenette with a full-size refrigerator, microwave, three-burner ceramic stove, and sink! Beautiful waterfront neighborhood with this little apartment being perfectly secluded from other buildings with privacy and a little deck where you can look over the water. Wonderful flooring where you don't have to worry about your pooch doing any damage to the adorably decorated little hideaway. Smeg refrigerator, wonderful Keurig and a comfortable bed we love it here. I had a hard time keeping the shower head in place since it’s slightly damaged, but it still worked. Would like to see that replaced and the fold out couch is fine, but doesn’t offer a lot of support for 2 people. A few things that could be improved was 1) The wifi was extremely unreliable/slow (this improved after guests in the other accommodation left after the weekend) 2) We we’re unable to access the beach, as all roads we tried indicated it was private and we couldn’t find a path down. 3) We lost power on one of the days as we ran the coffee machine at the same time as the kettle. We called the helpline and they said they’d call us back, but they didn’t. So we had to call a second time and then a lovely electrician came by to fix the issue. I needed to be in the Coupeville area for about 5 days and work while I was there. This studio was so perfect! So much better than a hotel room! Very nice furnishings, view and a beautiful area. I walked in the mornings around Rhodea Dr and saw all the beautiful deer, bunnies and quail. Only 10 mins to Coupeville for food, coffee, shops. Highly recommend for 1-2 people. Hot tub, fire pit, and back yard were a great bonus. My only recommendation is to provide more information in the check-in email. Otherwise really lovely. Difficult to figure out where/how to get down to the beach. Information on that would be helpful. All roads marked private. I asked a neighbor if it was ok to walk down a road marked private w my dog, and she said yes. Otherwise, wouldn’t have known.
