Very private, very quiet. At 9,300 feet, the summers are cool, the wildflowers are plentiful and the stars are bright. Sip your coffee on the deck and maybe the local moose, elk or deer will pay you a visit. Wildlife you won’t miss- mosquitos! Enjoy your stay in our mosquito free environment. Sleep upstairs on a queen sized bed or downstairs on the full sized sofa sleeper. The kitchen is fully stocked with cookware, table settings, basic kitchen appliances, cooking utensils. Keurig coffee maker, (including K-cups), microwave, toaster oven and fridge with freezer. We know how important a campfire in the mountains is and as local bans and contidions permit, safe campfires are always welcome. If staying with young children, please note the steepness of the stairs. Pets are not allowed due to issues with allergies. Star gazing is especially amazing as it is a high elevation with little light pollution. The local Cotopaxi Store is about 20 minutes away. They carry gas, groceries, deli, meats and at least one of everything else you could need. Mountain towns: looking for local shops, restaurants and strolls? Salida and Canon City are both about 45 minutes away. Looking for some hot springs? There is an indoor hot springs pool in Salida. Mount Princeton is just past Salida with its renowned hot springs. White Water Rafting: Some of the best in Colorado along the Arkansas River! Royal Gorge, home of the highest suspension bridge in the US, is a 50 minute drive from the cabin. Visiting in the Winter?
