Charming hotel, small, with a family run feel about it. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Only slight issue was that my room fridge did not appear to be working.

Amazing location, right on pedestrian street and close to all the monuments, many shops and restaurants. Easy walk to the bus stop to see Bom Jesus (20min bus ride). Nice breakfast included.

The room is dark and outdated even though the building is renovated. The first room we got the electrical circuit was out of order so we couldn't charge our cellphone, we had to change to another room. There're only 4 pay parking spaces provided by the hotel, once full, you need to drive to the nearby parking lot so it's very inconvenient.

Enjoyed our stay here!
We enjoyed our one night stay at this hotel. Our room was fine, decor slightly tired, but it was comfortable, clean and cosy with a bath which I like. Breakfast was lovely in a big bright dining area. The hotel was in a great location. Staff friendly and welcoming. It was also very good value.

The Staff at Check-in were extremely helpful, specially as the approaching street was difficult. They found us a parking space and helped with ALL our baggage. The Continental Breakfast was excellent. Check-Out was fast too. Very good stay, Thanks, OBRIGADO.

The hotel is very clean and decorated with a classic fine taste. Its location is fantastic, but it was the staff friendliness that made all the difference. From the girls in the frontdesk to the breakfast, all excelled in her duties.

A little bit of luxury in the centre of Braga
Very pleasant hotel situated on the Praca de Republica, outside the buzz of the Old Town which is only a short walk away. Reception on arrival was excellent. The receptionist apologised that the had still not reopened their breakfast buffet but I actually preferred the waitress service in any case. The breakfast / dinging room is a fine double-height space with wonderful stone pillars and arches. Rooms are spread over three floors with lift. I would recommend the hotel for a great night's sleep in a good sized (twin bed) room. The bedrooms are arranged around the outside of a communal space and modern central staircase.

A little bit of home
We were so comfortable there that we stayed a second night. The breakfast was delicious - great coffee, eggs, bacon, & gorgeous fruit. Dinner was top notch, and wait staff superb!

This hotel was very clean, very comfortable bed, breakfast was good and the lady serving was very pleasant. The lift wasn't very big so to getting a wheelchair in it was a bit like Tetris. Staff very pleasant and the restaurant was very good, I would recommend this hotel.

This property is absolutely beautiful, very traditional and true to itself. The staff could not have been more friendly or accommodating, it was an absolute pleasure to stay there. The food in their restaurant was simply delicious (particularly the risotto). I felt so well looked after and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is perfectly located for everything Braga has to offer - highly recommend!

When I arrived there were a few flies in my room; it was a beautiful day so I opened the windows, but this only brought more in vs. the two already there out. I relayed this to the front desk, who promptly resolved the issue by spraying the room while I was at dinner and I had no more bugs for the remainder of the week. The room itself may need a little repair of finishings; the shower faucet was broken (lever kept falling off when turned on--I was in room 104) Breakfast was my favorite part, the selection was perfect and it was a lovely way to start the day. Front desk and restaurant staff was very friendly and helpful! I quite enjoyed my stay overall

I loved staying in such a historic hotel. The entire staff, Carla, Marissa and the rest were extremely helpful whenever we needed tips or directions, including Carla lending me her own umbrella. There was a breakfast buffet which included fresh fruits as well as cereals, eggs, various sausages, ham and bacon, with fresh rolls. All in all, it was a pleasant stay and we will stay there again on our next visit.

Misleading photos of double room.
The photos in the Hotels.com site show a double room with doors opening on to the balcony. The room we were given was under the eaves in the roof with no balcony. When I questioned the front desk about this they told me only the suites have doors onto the balcony. The photo of the room I booked was a double room with doors to a balcony. The staff were nice, the breakfast was good and the dinner in the restaurant was delicious.

What an amazing stay at this marvelous hotel! Sometimes serendipity happens. Our stay was such an occasion. Our visit fell during the Braga Romana Festival, and so central Braga was buzzing with excitement and happy families. The hotel staff are among the most magnificent we have ever encountered. We dined at the Michelin star restaurant at the hotel. Magical experience. We are planning our next trip back with friends and family.

We were very happy with our stay here. The hotel is very quaint. In a historic building and within walking distance to attractions and restaurants. Breakfast was fantastic, fresh bread, pastries and fruit. Hot selections as well and you can ask for fried or scrambled eggs. We loved our stay and would stay again.

Nice hotel. Rooms clean, facilities OK. Rather modest in all aspects: room, breakfast, appearance. Would not be rated 4 stars in any other big European city. Still, a very good place to stay at when in Braga. The front desk ladies extremely nice, helpful, efficient.

We had a 5 night stay in Braga at the Bracara Augusta. The hotel is located in a very convenient spot in the centre with easy access to the local attractions and shopping etc. It is a very old building and the décor in the room reflects this. However the rooms were adequate and incorporated all the facilities you need including a well stocked mini bar. Shower was good but incorporated a curtain which is always an irritating feature. The location is in a precinct overlooking a garden area so was quiet. Staff were very friendly and efficient and the breakfast was comprehensive and good quality.

Good hotel, but not cool.
Nice hotel near the centre of town. Handy location for walking anywhere and bus to Bom Jesus. Only disappointment was the poor air conditioning. We were offered change of room about midnight, but as outside temperature was not too high we slept with window open.

Great location!
Right in the center of the city across from a beautiful city park. The staff was experienced and very helpful. Be sure to see the giant BRAGA letters just down the street from the hotel.
