"We spent four enjoyable days here. Our hosts were very generous, giving us lots of local insight for exploring the area, as well as some fruit grown on their own property. We enjoyed relaxing in the sun by the pool, and all the flowers and trees in the yard. Definitely a beautiful spot to stay!"

"There's much to like about The Yellow House, with one major exception. The bed is quite comfortable, and while smallish, the quarters are comfortable as well. Wifi worked very well, and the patio is a huge plus, for relaxing in the sun (I smoke the occasional cigar, so it was very welcome. It's also very quiet except for the occasional- as in not very often- barking of the two dogs next door. They're pretty cool pooches, so it was not a problem. The site is two blocks from the Cockburn Port...

"2nd visit this time with better weather so made use of the private pateo area. The house is spacious a small change has been made which has resulted in the property only has 1 shower but still has 2 toilets. Had a great stay great hosts and lovley eggs and lemons from the sweet lady."

"Amazing 3 bedroom/2 full bath house with all the basics covered. Very clean, thanks to the housekeeping terrific service. The place is steps away from the metro, intercity trains, and an easy walk to really anywhere in Gaia and Porto (via Dom Luis I bridge, upper or lower crossing). Train station has elevators for improved accessibility (although the house itself has stairs to enter from the street to the upper deck). Staying on the Gaia side is optimal because you get to see the beautiful...

The only downfall was the kitchen cupboards were very high although there was a step provided it was still difficult, especially for shorter people to get things out."

"La casa es estupenda, tal como aparece en las fotos. El apartamento es amplio, nuevo y comodo, hay una terraza con vista al jardín grande para comer-cenar a la sombra. La piscina y jacuzi con agua calentita. Hemos tenido suerte y casi no hemos coincidido con los otros huespedes (hay otros dos apartametos mas pequeños). Los dueños viven al lado y son siempre diponibles. Todo un lujo. Aveiro esta a 15min con el coche y la playa de barra a 20min. Supermercados cerca. Muy comodo. Super aconsejable."

After a lot of time-wasting we managed to contact "Ribeiro", who in turn called a neighbor with a key to the property.2. The house and its contents were very old and urgently need modernizing. "Fabulous home in a beautiful, serene valley. You will definitely feel the love when you arrive here. We were greeted by the whole family bearing, wine, charcuterie, and a pineapple upside down cake. It is always such an honor to stay in one of these family homesteads. Lots of space, beautiful décor, amazing landscaping and views of the village. Enjoy a walk along the river in the flowers and vineyards. This is a great place to relax."

"We’ve had such a lovely stay at this lovely villa. It’s a very quiet area, with lovely views of the river. We were 3 families staying for the week, we thoroughly enjoyed the (heated!) pool everyday, we had a couple of days wakesurfing on the river Douro and a couple of trips to the beach and river beach. we also thoroughly enjoyed a cooked meal at the villa by Alda, she is a very talented chef. Check in and out process was seamless with a very smiley welcoming Alda meeting us at the property....

"Great stay for my family of five. Super nice and helpful staff. Few minutes from the Metro. Huge room, it’s actually the size of an apartment. "

"Reception staff were really helpful when we arrived early,eg let us park in car park and use toilet. The apartment had a lovely sea view and a comfy sofa. It was plenty large enough for two people but did need updating. The bed especially so as it was creaky and uncomfortable, spoiling our experience to a certain degree. The kitchen was very basic and had no preparation space without us moving the microwave out of the way, it was in need of a major upgrade."
