Salt and Soul Cottage: A perfect location just one block from private beach access in Buck Island community with a private pool, hot tub, and convenient access to shops and restaurants. Discover the charm of this inviting 5-bedroom oceanside retreat.

The beautiful, well-maintained Salt and Soul Cottage has an airy, cottage feel with an abundance of natural light. As you step inside, you're greeted by an open layout, seamlessly connecting the main living area with the expansive outdoor space. Lounge by the private pool that backs up to one of the many community ponds or soak in the hot tub all hours of the day. The living room offers a spacious open floor plan conducive for family meals or movie marathons. The updated kitchen is well designed to allow meals to be a breeze for families of all sizes. Dining seating for 10, along with island barstools (6), bistro table for 2 and additional seating in Ship watch area provides flexibility for any occasion. The top-level bedroom offers a king ensuite with private bath and sun deck for complete relaxation. The mid-level offers another king bed with deck access and (3) additional bedrooms suitable for any age. The lower level has a lounging area with television, pool access, sleep-sofa, plus a full bathroom. In addition, you will cherish the convenience of a full-sized refrigerator and expansive utility room on the lower level.

The ocean is a 3-minute walk, unless you stop to visit the turtles sunbathing on the banks of the many ponds along the sidewalks. The turtles are just one precipitant that highlight the charm and uniqueness of the Buck Island community. Lush landscaping, lighted streets and walkways, Olympic size community pool, outdoor tennis and basketball court and children's playground provide unrivaled options. You will appreciate the cabana-style bath house with bathrooms at beach access area with outdoor showers to rinse off both you and your gear before heading back after a day at the expansive beach area.

All reservations are offered to purchase travel insurance for an additional 7.75% of your rent and taxes. Please refer to the rental agreement you will be signing to accept or decline this coverage as your refund in the time of cancellation will be dependent on your acceptance in most situations. All guests must sign and return a rental agreement before reservations are confirmed. Payment for travel insurance, if accepted, will be processed upon receipt of this signed agreement.

Standard cancellation policy is: CANCELLATION POLICY and SUBSTITUTIONS - Any changes, including changing dates, switching of properties, or complete cancellations will invoke the cancellation policy. Agent recommends all Renters purchase travel insurance offered at time of booking to protect them in the event of an unexpected event affecting their vacation. Agent cannot offer future credits or immediate refunds for unexpected cancellations due to emergencies regardless of the situation, including but not limited to weather events and acts of God, unexpected illnesses, injury or death, changing of plans, or job loss. Please do not ask. All cancellations are subject to a fifty dollar ($50.00) cancellation fee. Cancellations must be submitted to Agent in writing (email is acceptable). In the event of cancellation, no refund of monies paid will be made unless the Property is re-rented for the same price and time period of this original vacation rental agreement. If the Property is re-rented for a lesser price or time period, the original Tenant will receive a refund for the difference between the originally agreed upon rental amount and the rebooked rental amount as Owner is entitled to receive the full amount of the original rental agreement. Agent will make every effort to re-rent the Property at the full amount. Tenant acknowledges that Agent has full discretion on negotiating rental rates in an effort to get the Property re-rented and make the Owner whole, while also attempting to get the Tenant the highest refund possible.

Spacious + Relaxing

We had a wonderful stay at this perfect house super close to the beach. The beach was on the more crowed side, but that is understandable given the location. The pool was the perfect temperature, and all the rooms were great sizes. Can't wait for next year!

My wife's side of the family and mine got together for a beautiful vacation. Plenty of things to do on the property, the kids wouldn't leave the pool. The adults wouldn't leave the hot tub. Easy 3 minute walk to the beach, loved the binder the owner has that suggest tours and restaurants. Thank you.

Loflich OBX Adventure

Great location - close to the beach, close to food and grocery stores! The house was very clean when we arrived and welcoming with every kitchen utensil needed (the blender, ice maker and coffee grinder were especially nice to have). The pool and hot tub were great and the daily setup of 4x chairs and an umbrella at the beach were a nice touch (from 9am-4pm). Some things that could be improved are: 1. More 'starter supplies' like kitchen trash bags, liquid dish soap (to go with the included dish sponge), bar soap for the bathrooms. 2. The linens and dish towels were lacking, we had a hard time finding sheets for the downstairs pullout couch/bed and had to use bath hand-towels in the kitchen. 3. There was land-scaping/construction being done across the street which woke us up several mornings before 8am....a temporary thing. 4. There was a picture that had a room with a bunk-bed that wasn't in the house, but it worked out with one kid sleeping on the pull-out couch downstairs. The neighbors were really friendly always saying hi to us and our kids. All-in-all, we had a great time and would look forward to coming back to this same house/neighborhood again!

House - Great! Property Management Company - Sigh

The location and house are fantastic!! Really our only frustration was with the Property Management company. When we initially booked it, they kept sending us payment links that wouldn't work - then turn around and email us that since we hadn't paid we could lose our booking. Two days before arrival, we were told we'd get our door code through the APP. That never happened. Then upon arrival, we didn't receive any notification that we'd need a community gate code, so we were stuck outside in the rain with a toddler. Since their office was closed, it was a bit of a "to-do" to finally get someone to call us back - and only after we called the emergency line (which is supposed to be reserved for floods, fires, etc.). All in all - we'd absolutely stay here again - but now we know we have to do more work on our end to avoid any mishaps and truly enjoy our vacation.

Family Beach Week

Beautiful house and pool and a great location. However, the property manager could do a better job maintaining and preparing the house. No TP, No soap, half the lights in the house and nearly all outside lights were burnt out. Several kitchen cabinet doors had fallen off and were not repaired.

Beautiful house and. Excellent location!

We joined another family (total of 12 people) for a wonderful stay at antonica. The house was clean, comfortable and well appointed. The location is stunning and so convenient to stores and restaurants. Out stay could not have been better. Just some minor snags - top bunk bed had no sheets, the gas grill ran out of gas (was replaced 2 days later) and we could not find a broom in the house. Aside from that, it was perfect!
