Looking for a great family vacation? Looking for an Outer Banks getaway? How about great beaches? Look no more, just stay in the “Heart of Corolla”. This cute 3 bedroom property in Corolla Light Resort is an intimate, cozy spot for your family to enjoy their week at the beach. Corolla Light offers trolley pick up and drop off throughout the resort for easy access to the beach, multiple community pools, and kiddie pool. “Heart of Corolla” is just across the street from the indoor sports complex which includes an indoor community pool, 2 indoor clay tennis courts, a cardio room, a weight room, and racquetball. No more worries on rainy days! Just behind the complex is a quiet, sound side private pool with a kiddie pool, a great spot to relax and unwind without the seasonal rush at the beach. Just think, access to all amenities and you never have to use your car! Just jump on the trolley for a sweet ride.

Corolla Light also has multiple tennis courts! The oceanfront complex has everything beach lovers need for an entire day on the beach. Lifeguards (in season only), snack shack, restaurant, pool and kiddie pool. Besides the water attractions, there is community volleyball, basketball, playground and game room. The staff offers activities summer months only for kids of all ages. Miles of bike paths are available to follow and explore Corolla from the Corolla Light neighborhood, to shopping, Historic Whalehead Club, and the historic Currituck Light. Take a break and stay in the “Heart of Corolla”!

Dirty house and not taken care of

No sheets on master bedroom bed. Urine stains on master bed matress cover. House was dirty, had to wipe down counters and sweep floors. Carpet on stairs clearly showed shoes tracks and not vacuumed. House was clearly not cleaned before our arrival. Had to call the management company multiple times the first night, and Mary who was the after hour rep hung up on us because we wanted answers and she couldn't help because we wanted arrival times and had a pet that we needed to coordinate times for. We waited 6 hours for sheets, finally arrived at 10:30pm. We were told Gary, who is the manager, would call us back. Called the office several times for the next two days and was told each time he was out and to call back. Again, no call from him or anyone else for that matter. We wanted to let Gary know there were other issues but Blue Rentals didn't seem to care. Upstairs powder room has a leak and wanted to let management company know but unable to because again Gary never called back and we got tired of being told he was available. Railing on 3rd floor upper back deck a hazard, loose and unsafe. Outdoor furniture was not clean. We told the management company when we first called we would clean and needed a hose and brush. Only delivered a hose. Promised a brush and sprayer, but Ernie never returned. Cooking pans were old so uneven cooking occurred. Lights are out in carport and was filles with debris. Blind was ripped from the wall in the 1st floor bedroom.

Corolla Light

Very nice house conveniently located near Corolla lighthouse, shops and restaurants. Amenities of the Corolla Light community were an added bonus. House was comfortably furnished and clean, but had some deferred maintenance around the front door.

Nice place/perfect location

The house was a perfect size for the amount of people that stayed with us. Location was perfect and the Corolla Lite grounds, pools etc were awesome. There were a few downfalls, including the patio furtniture which was dirty and outdated. No outdoor table for eating and the house wasn't cleaned properly or dusted to the point we actually had to clean to feel comfortable. The house seemed to be neglected inside and out compared to our neighbors and that was a bit disappointing for what we paid. But we would definitely stay in Corolla Lite again, just not this particular house.

Never again as long as you use this management company

We arrived an hour before check in and were denied access. We entered the house at 4pm check in time and it was not cleaned. We placed our case and two six packs of beer into the refrigerator, and then continued to wait outside for the cleaning crew to arrive. They arrived around 5:45. A father, mother, and three children that were around 9-14 years old made up this motley crew. They brought in two large sacks of bed linens. Shortly after, the oldest son stated that they were finished but they didn't have enough towels for each bathroom. We asked if they would be returning with towels, and he said NO. We headed into the house shortly after they left, and noticed that ALL OF OUR BEER WAS STOLEN from the fridge! We told the management company that we don’t want ANYONE else entering the rental house, as this family just committed theft. Upon returning from the beach the following afternoon, we saw a young gentleman (around 17-21) walking out of our rental house! He stated that he entered to see if we had checked out, (we just arrived the day before), and that HE LEFT THE FRONT DOOR OPEN FOR US! Our dog could have escaped! We notified management and were again issued an apology by Outer Banks Blue, and were told that no one else will be able to enter the house. To break down this particular house: It’s okay. The master bedroom’s shower simply blasts you with pressure reminiscent of a fire hose. A bunch of the ceiling light bulbs in the living room are out. The second entrance on the second floor (with two of the three bedrooms on it) had a broken deadbolt. The deadbolt knob would spin, and the deadbolt would not engage. The strike plate that the normal door lock fits into was hanging off of the frame. It appears as though the door was kicked in by SWAT or a home invader at some point. We wedged furniture against the door to at least give us a few seconds to respond if someone tried any shenanigans. The children's room (that has bunk beds) is on the ground floor. It also has an exit door, which is not the safest feeling for children or parents. There are long strands of what appears to be women’s hair all over the house, especially the wood railings around the couches. I understand that things do happen through the rental season and you can only see things for yourself during the off months. This is where the management company is supposed to come in. Please consider using a different company, as it could not get any worse than Outer Banks Blue.

Love Corrola Light resort/community. Landlord could step up it's game.

This is a lovely "resort" - access to 2 pools (just go to indoor pool to get your wrist bands), using the trolley. Effortless. Two concerns with landlord - Something Blue 1. Asked for early checkin for our 4 month old child and ended up having to wait until about 5pm to checkin - this property was scheduled last to clean. 2. Had a broken door knob lock all week. Promised 3 times it would be fixed. Left and it still wasn't fixed.

Nice dog friendly house

This is a great dog friendly house! Easy walk to the beach and dog walking area. The Corolla Light complex had 3 oceanfront pools with a grill that was an awesome perk! We biked easily to the Corolla LightHouse and made many memories! Overall a great OBX vacation.

Heart of corolla

Every thing was nice except all the kitchen items, which were of very cheap quality. The fridge froze all the food so we had to throw away a lot. I found a spoon that looked like someone ate ice cream with it, then put it in the drawer dirty. There were a few other things but nothing major. Overall we had a great vacation. Traffic was ugly.
