We were very pleased with our stay. Hotel and room were clean and services were above regular. Very friendly staff and detailed informations given at time of arrival. Full bar available for purchases downstairs in a beautiful seating area. Terrace available for use. Breakfast was delicious and various. Thank you for taking a great care of 3 of us.

Nice hotel very close to beach and town centre.
Nice clean hotel. Close to Gyllingvase beach (bottom of the road) and 10 minute walk to harbour and beginning of High Street. Some nice restaurants. Came down for Oyster Festival in October. Within an hour''s drive to St Michael's Mount, Penzance, Land's End and St Ives. Wonderful boat trips, a well-preserved castle.

Really enjoyed Falmouth, well worth a 3 day visit.
Very pleased with location. Short walk, 10 minutes, down hill to town, 5 minutes in other direction to beach. Very good value for money. Breakfast well done. Room comfortable, though bathroom very cramped. Wi-fi was intermittent at best, only real complaint. Also due to the location of our room, overlokking the main road, the secondary window glazing had to be closed to reduce the street noise from the early morning traffic. The owner, Paul, was extremely helpful and friendly. Great having parking, we left the car for the entire stay.....walked the town.

Excellent first visit. Will certainly return.
As a solo first visitor to the guest house and area felt very safe and welcome. Guest house is ideally situated between short walks to beautiful Gyllyngvase Beach and Falmouth Town Centre. Having good parking facilities also helped as I had been warned that parking in the area might be difficult. My single room was perfectly adequate for my needs. Breakfast was very good with a varied menu which I was able to enjoy whilst seated with a perfect view of their delightful garden. I was only there for two nights stay but came away feeling very rested.

Excellent hotel near the beach.
This is an excellent hotel near the beach, town and railway station if arriving that way. Nothing is too much trouble for the owners. The breakfast is good also so what's not to like !!!

Boarding house not hotel
Called a hotel but not open when we arrived, notice on door saying open a 4pm. Person on reception not very friendly either on arrival or departure. Add on bathroom with sink in main bedroom as not enough space. Whole place is very tired. Staff in dining room very nice and breakfast good. Good location for beach and town but otherwise would not recommend staying here.

Lovely little hotel. The beach is only a minutes walk away. The owners were lovely and very accommodating of my daughters needs. My older daughter is autistic and the female owner especially made her feel very welcomed. They remembered what they wanted for breakfast and set up the same table accordingly. The family room we were in was gorgeous but the only downside was it was very very warm in there. We did have exceptionally warm weather but the small fan that was provided and the window being open did little to alleviate this.

Nice place, well located and convenient for trekking the SWCP. Only stayed one night. Only real issue for me was iffy wifi in my room. Kept dropping off and, when connected fairly weak despite there being a "repeater" in the hall outside

Great location
Gyllyngvase beach is 5 minutes walk downhill. Railway station is 5 min walk. Town is 10 minutes walk - so it's in a great location - especially if you don't have a car & arrive by train. Lovely cafe on Gyllyngvase beach overlooking the sea - great for dinner. Owner was v friendly & recommended a great pub for Sunday lunch too! Breakfast OK - tho tea tasted odd, the local water I guess. Don't forget to check back of breakfast menu for more options - I didn't realise there was more choice. Check in not until 4pm & front door locked if you arrive before 4pm - you can wait in the garden. Shower room/toilet by my single room smelt a bit damp & too small & claustrophobic - so I used another bathroom down a few stairs that had a bath & was brighter. My single room was v clean, tiny but adequate for 3 nights. No space for a wardrobe - just hangers on back of door. Nice garden to sit in & a bar & communal area. Overall a great location & very good value for a single traveller.

This hotel met all our needs.
A clean comfortable B & B that met all our needs. Breakfast was especially good. We stayed in Sept. &it was cool weather. There was no A/C so it might be hot in the summer. However it is close to the beach & might get a nice breeze off the water.

Nice hotel excellent for the town centre
We had an excellent stay at this hotel, we only booked for one night but were welcomed on arrival, help was offered with our bags and nothing seemed too much trouble. Room was adequate, the bed was a little hard and light was obscured by a large tree but overall it did the job. Breakfast was lovely, the staff were very helpful and the selection was extensive.

It was clean and tidy but separate sink from bathroom, window above bath was rusty and some rust fell on to corner of bath. The furniture in our room was a little dated and part of the bedstead had been sellotaped! This was a family room on the top floor. I think there were probably nicer rooms in the guest house. The staff very all very nice.

Very good location, close to the rail station and town centre, and very close to the beach! The single room was very snug, but nicely done, and staff were very helpful. The walls are rather thin, which wasn't a problem for me, but might bother light sleepers or be a problem if other guests stay up late.

Good location for making trips
Although neither in town or on the beach, this guest house is well located for an easy walk to both, as well as for making car trips to the Lizard Peninsula and the many local gardens and other attractions. It is a pleasant, well run guest house. The breakfasts are also great. We were very comfortable and felt welcomed. My only negative is the poor condition of the toilet and bath tub - both worked and were clean, but they were a bit "rustic".

A lovely Hotel close to the beach.
Thoroughly enjoyed my weekend short stay, whilst dropping of my son to his University, First year student! I enjoyed the close proximity to the beach, lovely scenic walks, very tranquil. The nearby leisure facilities at St Michaels hotel was a great recommendation, made by the lovely member of staff, herself a recent Falmouth University graduate! Hence double the recommendation for this place! The Hotel & staff are great!

NICE HOTEL CLOSE TO THE BEACH
hotel staff were very welcoming, as we arrived early, and our room was all ready for us. the room was clean and comfortable. the shower was a bit of a problem, as when the hot or cold water was used in the washbasin, the shower went hot or cold. this could be a health and safety issue if children were using the shower. the room was cleaned daily, so no problem there. the breakfast had a good and varied choice, and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. we would stay there again

Our stay at Gyllyngvase Hotel May/June 2015
The hotel is conveniently located in Falmouth being near to the shops and restaurants one way and to the beach the other way. We had been placed in a bedroom at the top of the hotel with no view and furthermore the window was blocked out by a very tall tree and its leaves. This made the room very dark. In the days when the house was built it would have been one of the servant's rooms. In addition the bed creaked terribly every time we turned over. I put this down to the fact that it was one of those beds that had a wood frame and wood slats and that there needed to be some tightening of the screws to the bed to try and cure the problem. The breakfasts were excellent with a good variety on the menu. The staff were friendly and efficient but there was rarely anyone on reception although if you rang the bell they were there promptly.

Good hotel reasonably priced
Absolutely great except that the owner decided since it was now May that the heating should be off in the rooms - the outside temperature dropped very much at night and the room was cold - having endured it for two nights we complained and the heating was put on. Otherwise couldn't fault it.

Horrible horrible
Hotel room dated, funiture old , bathroom a joke . No cot provided for baby initially so we had to all sleep together, cramped! The single bed for child had a TV above the head of bed, old electric heater on floor, electrical cables hanging down wall by baby's bed! All in all for £ 100 plus a night it was just a joke . Would not recomend it to anyone

Major disappointment
Just got back from our little jaunt in Falmouth and have to say the Gyllyngvase Guest house was a major disappointment. Check in at 4 and out by 10 the following morning? Not much scope for a lie in as brekky was between 8-9.30, which was adequate, I guess. 1 egg, 1 rasher of bacon, 1 sausage, 1 portion of beans and 1 portion of mushrooms. The room despite the radiator being on was freezing, the owner should invest in some double glazing. My advice, avoid at all costs, we couldn't wait to get out!

Lovely breakfast staff very helpful, the only problem was a lack of a power point near a mirror for hair styling. or a mirror near the power point Also the en-suite window was old and we were unable to close it, as this room was on the corner of the main road we could hear the traffic noise.

What a lovely place
Single guest, down for business at local art gallery. What a location! 2 minutes from beach; 10 minutes from town. Room was small and not en suite, but very very clean. I slept well all 5 nights without interruption. Bit of a faff plugging in my computer and phone charger (room so small I had to move furniture), but good wifi connection. The lounge is excellent - great for flopping in and reading the rather Tory newspapers! The breakfast was utterly fab, with truly lovely staff. I recommend the kippers. The proprietor is a really friendly guy. Highly recommended.
