Welcome to our stylish 3-bedroom unit, ideal for families, groups or travellers. Comfortably sleeping up to 5 guests, it offers a king bed, a double bed, and one single bed. The home is well-furnished with a cozy living area, fully equipped kitchen, and modern touches to make your stay enjoyable. Whether for work or leisure, you’ll find the space inviting, convenient, and perfectly suited for relaxation after a busy day exploring.

Blackhill was once a standalone village and is now a quiet residential district of Consett, offering a mix of semi-detached and terraced homes with a strong community feel.   
  
Just a short walk or drive away is the lovely Blackhill & Consett Park, a historic green space gifted by the Consett Iron Company in the late 19th century.   
 It offers landscaped lawns, woodlands, walking paths, and a peaceful retreat from the bustle of town.   
  
Local amenities are easily accessible — you’ll find nearby primary and secondary schools, local shops, and services in Consett town centre, which is within easy reach.   
  
The area strikes a good balance between suburban calm and good access to regional transport links. It’s well suited for guests looking for a relaxed home base with scenic countryside nearby, while still being close enough to Consett’s shops, restaurants, and convenient road links to Durham, Newcastle and beyond.

Welcome to our charming 3-bedroom unit, perfect for families, groups, or business travelers. The space comfortably sleeps up to 5 guests with a king bed, a double bed, and a single bed. It features one modern bathroom, a cozy living area, and all the essentials for a comfortable stay. Thoughtfully furnished, the unit offers a relaxing atmosphere and is well-suited for both short visits and longer stays.  
  
By Car  
  
From Durham or the south: take the A1 north to Scotch Corner, then A68 north toward Consett.   
Once you're close to Consett, head into the town, then follow local roads to Blackhill and onto Ashby Crescent.  
Ashby Crescent is a residential street, typically accessible via the main town roads and local signage.  
  
By Bus (Public Bus)  
Go North East operates frequent services between Durham and Consett, particularly on the X15 / X5 “X-lines” express routes.   
Buses depart from Durham city centre (Millburngate Stand B) and arrive at Consett Bus Station (Stand G). Journey time is around 35–40 minutes.   
From Consett Bus Station, switch to a local bus heading toward Blackhill or walk/taxi the final stretch to Ashby Crescent.  
Some local bus routes serving Consett Academy and nearby villages pass close to Blackhill and may give a drop-off or pickup nearby.   
  
By Train  
The nearest major train stations are in Durham or Newcastle, depending on your direction of travel.   
After arriving by train, transfer to a bus (e.g., X15/X-lines) or take a taxi to Consett and then either walk or take a local taxi to 12 Ashby Crescent.  
  
Final Leg  
Once you're in the Blackhill / Consett area, Ashby Crescent is a residential street easy to find via GPS or a local map.  
If arriving at Consett Bus Station, a local taxi or short walk will generally get you to the unit within a few minutes.  
  
\- NO SMOKING INSIDE: We kindly request that smoking be avoided inside the premises. Any indication of smoking will incur a fee of £300 for odor removal, duct cleaning, and furniture cleaning. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.  
  
\- We do require a separate short term rental agreement to be signed directly with us and a pre-arrival form filled prior to your stay.  
  
At Vacant Nests, we’re dedicated to ensuring our property is protected throughout every guest stay. To provide peace of mind for both owners and guests, we require all guests to either have a £400 fully refundable security deposit hold placed on their account or purchase a £50 one-time Accidental Damage Waiver, which covers up to £500 of accidental damage during the stay.
