About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire home to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

4 Acre Country House near Lake Oroville

Come enjoy our home where we spend our summers and vacations, so it is fitted with all the comforts you'd expect, including a fully stocked kitchen and a cozy couch and beds. Our 1,100 sq-ft cozy country guesthouse has endless views of nature, wildlife and plenty of property to roam. We truly enjoy hosting guests at our home and are just a phone call or text away if you need anything.

Our home is located on 4 acres of land that is adjacent to Lake Oroville. It is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city down a quiet dirt road, and if you’re in the market for farm fresh eggs, they can be purchased on the way in from our neighbor's ranch.

This country guesthouse has been remodeled and has a large master bedroom with a queen bed and walk-in closet, and a second bedroom that has a twin over full bunk bed. Each bedroom has a portable AC unit, fan and space heater.

The kitchen and living area provide an inviting area to spend time with family, with a beautiful island for eating or playing games, and a large comfy couch and loveseat to kickback and read a book.

The couch is a memory foam pull-out sofa. The entertainment center has a built in electric fireplace to add warmth to the room. There is a window unit AC unit and portable AC unit for cooling in the summer, and a furnace for heat in the winter.

For those that want to work remotely, the kitchen table is a good place to set up, and the WiFi is *rated* for 200MB download and 20MB upload (speeds may vary, especially during wind or rain, since it is satellite wifi).

The patio is great for watching wildlife or gaze at the stars at night. The house is located on 4 acres of land that are adjacent to Lake Oroville, but there isn’t a direct view of the lake from the house, only from a short walk on the property.

Lake Oroville is owned by the CA State Parks, so there is no direct access to the lake from any homes on it. That said, you get a beautfiul view of the lake from our property. For the lake itself, the only direct path is to go boating on it in some form, from a kayak, ski boat, pontoon or houseboat. These can be rented or launched from Lime Saddle Marina, which you can see from our property, and is a 12 minute drive to. Lake Oroville is renowned for bass fishing also.

Other places to go swimming or fishing are Rock Creek up the 70 in the river (which is also an incredibly gorgeous drive), Feather River which you can float down or access from Riverbend park, the North Thermalito Forebay (kayaking here also), or water play in Bidwell Park in Chico.

**This listing is for the entire country guesthouse exclusively (on the right when driving up). There is a large main lakehouse cabin with huge deck (on the left when driving up) on the property across the driveway that is a rental for 8 as well (ask us about renting it too!).**

Some key highlights to consider:
- The house and patio are private. The property is shared between the guests of the houses and otherwise on the property.
- THERE IS NO DIRECT ACCESS TO THE LAKE FOR SWIMMING, the property is on a steep decline into the lake, guarded by trees and rocks.
- We have a 24KW Generac Generator that will automatically turn on should there be a power outage.
- The refrigerator will be emptied, but we have a full array of dry seasonings and spices to cook with.
- Specifically for large towels, we provide one large towel per person, so 6 total for 6 guests, in order to reduce cleaning costs.
- We have portable AC/Heat units in the bedrooms (which can be a bit on the louder side), space heaters in the bedrooms and bathroom, a window AC unit and portable AC unit in the living room, a furnace in the living room, and a faux-fireplace in the entertainment center in the living room.
- We have 1 TV setup on guest mode, which you can log into any of your streaming subscriptions.
- We have a septic system, so there are times that the laundry room has an odor when it is unused. Doing laundry in the washing machine and taking showers helps eliminate it.
- At times, the lake level is low, but can be seen from the edge of the property.
- We have four security cameras on-site, all are outside. One each faces the front of each house, and the other two are near the “Store” monitoring the backyard. They are on, but only trigger by extreme motion, such as cars driving through.
- If you need to have mail sent to the property during your stay, send it via UPS or Fedex so that it is delivered to the front door. The mailbox is not accessible since it is a vacation property.

The house is located about 30 minutes southeast of Chico off of highway 70. There is about 0.5 miles of a non-lighted, gravel road leading to the driveway that can be easily navigated by all types of cars. The property offers plenty of space for parking several vehicles, including oversized vehicles such as RVs.

The house is equipped with a smart lock to allow hassle free check-in and easy access for all guests.

The roads once you get off of the 70 highway heading into our property (Truex and Trevor) and all of the properties on them are private, and our neighbors are quite protective about that (you’ll see the signs), so please limit traveling on them to getting in and out of the property only.

While our property is very fun and offers lots of adventures, please be advised that there are dangerous elements such as steep slopes, play structures, high structures without railings, poisonous plants, poisonous/dangerous wildlife, holes, tall trees with brittle branches, rope swings, wildfire risks, mudslide risks, and many other dangerous or potentially deadly elements out of our control. You and your guests are at your own risks with no liability to the owners when you book our property.

Quiet and comfortable
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. It was nice, clean and had everything you could want. Beds were comfortable, living space was cozy. Since we were here for Chico graduation it wasn’t too far away. We did see lots of deer, that was fun.
