Upon entering this romantic one-bedroom apartment, perfect for couples, a hallway leads to the spacious and bright open-space living room. This large room consists of the relaxation area, with a large and comfortable sofa for watching a movie or reading and chatting, looking at the beautiful landscape; next to it, there is the dining table for 3/4 people, while the long windowsill of the panoramic window is used as a counter with stools, for breakfasts, snacks and aperitifs overlooking the lake. From here you can access the balcony, furnished with table and chairs, for unforgettable moments accompanied by a breathtaking view! Open to the living room is the kitchen, complete with everything you need to prepare meals like at home and try out local products. The master bedroom has a large closet where you can store your wardrobe even for longer stays. The apartment concludes with a bathroom with shower, complete with washing machine and dryer. Quality bedding, towels and a courtesy kit are provided. We also leave a gift basket with some necessary items for your first breakfast. Free Wi-Fi available. In the city center you can stroll through the cobbled streets, shops, bars and restaurants, churches and pretty squares: the famous Piazza Duomo, with its marvellous cathedral and its Broletto, both worth visiting; Piazza San Fedele, a pretty little square with the Romanesque basilica of the same name; Via Vittorio Emanuele, one of the most famous streets for shopping; Piazza Volta, very lively for aperitifs and after-dinner drinks all year round; Porta Torre, one of the historical entrances to the walled city; Piazza Cavour, the largest square in Como, in front of which it is possible to take the Navigazione Lago di Como boat and reach the most famous places on the lake (Cernobbio, Blevio, Torno, Laglio, Argegno, Menaggio, Bellagio, Varenna). On foot, or by renting city bikes, you can reach Viale GenoOn foot, or by renting city bikes, you can also reach Viale Geno, following it up to Villa Geno. At the beginning of Viale Geno there is also the Funicular railway station to reach Brunate and its lighthouse, where you can stop for lunch in one of the many restaurants, or continue with a panoramic trek towards the Lario mountains, with a break in one of the mountain huts you will encounter along the way. How to arrive: By car, from the A9 motorway take the Como Lago exit and drive along the SS340 until you reach "Via per Cernobbio". Drive along it towards Como, pass Villa Olmo and continue along "Via Borgovico". Here take "Via Nino Bixio" and reach the apartment in a few minutes. By train, from the station Como San Giovanni go down the stairs to reach the stop "Como, s. Rocchetto". Take the bus, No. 7 "Como Recchi" for 4 stops, and get off at the stop "Como, Bixio 34". The view of the lake was breathtaking! The apartment was large. Now for the not so good. The location, although only about a 15 min walk to edge of town, the first 10 of it was terrifying! The road was narrow and had no sidewalks. It was a very busy road from early morning to late night. The self check in process was confusing and misinformed. It involved a mailbox, a lock box which we tried several times to unlock but was told to open the wrong box. three different keys to three different doors which were not marked on a key chain with 5 keys? The middle door was very difficult to unlock and the light in the hallway was not working so made it even worse. Upon entering the apartment is was clean, large but somewhat stuffy. No AC, no screens on the windows so no fresh air. The only fan provided was a tiny table top fan. Most of the "shades" of you can call them that, we're not working or broken or both. The washer and dryer were both broken. Two of the main reasons we chose this place was that it was close to the train station and had a washer and dryer as we are at the end of our Italy trip and needed clean clothes. Yes it was close to train station but we already talked about the road. The shower was hands down the smallest shower we have ever experienced. I am only 5'8", 165lbs and it was too small for me! No one ever showed up to fix anything. We very much enjoyed Lake Como but was very disappointed in the apartment. ##### Fred R. The property boasted an absolutely excellent view, which we enjoyed immensely from the quiet and spacious balcony. The detailed check-in information provided was greatly appreciated and made for a seamless arrival with no issues whatsoever. While the road leading to the property wasn't ideal for walking, the stunning vistas more than made up for it.
