Relax on the back porch, or soak up the natural light flooding the inside of the apartment. It is only a short walk from downtown and 15 minutes to Fort Moore. If traveling with a larger group, you can rent both halves of the house! The fireplaces no longer work, but they add to the historic character of this great home! The Space: This is the back unit of a duplex; 2 bedrooms/1.5 bathrooms home sleeps 7 and is a perfect place to get away. The beautiful heart-pine floors have been refinished, the windows let in tons of light, and the beds are super comfy. The fireplaces no longer work, but they add to the historic character of this great home! Enjoy cooking in the fully stocked kitchen and gathering around the TV in the living room. During your stay, you will have full access to the back unit; the front unit is rented separately. Please inquire if you are interested in renting both together. \*\*\*A pack 'n play/travel crib is available upon request.\*\*\* Guest Access: Guests will have access to the entire home! It is a town home, but both units have their own entrances and are completely separate. This unit is located in the back with it's own private yard, fire pit, and . The Neighborhood: You will love this quiet street right next to downtown restaurants, bars, and the riverwalk. All downtown attractions are within walking distance, and Fort Moore is just a short drive. Getting Around: You can walk to everything downtown, and the post is just a short drive or uber away! Other Things to Note: \*\*\*A pack 'n play/travel crib is available upon request.\*\*\* We require a signed rental agreement and for guest to be 21 years of age to book. If you notify us of your intent to cancel prior to the lapse of the free cancellation period, we will return 97% of your payment. The other 3% will already have been collected by the credit card processing company, and we have no way to return that portion of the payment. We are a pet friendly home. Pets must be crated when they are left unattended in the home. We do not allow pets on furniture or beds, and all waste must be cleaned up from the yard. All pets require a non-refundable pet fee. If there is evidence of pet hair on the furniture, excess hair in the home, stains, or waste found in the yard or home, you will be charged the cost to clean this. Older house but perfect for me and my wife with our soldier staying with us during the day. You are getting what you pay for but it's a good bargain. Minor quibbles with this house such as bathroom has slight mildew smell, shower curtains mounted slightly too high above tub edge. You can hear your neighbors in the other half of the house but we were fortunate that this was not an issue. Kitchen cooking supplies sparse but you can make do. Our only complaint would be the walls between the front and rear units are super thin. Our neighbors were very angry that they could hear our conversations in the evenings. The driveway to the rear of the unit is narrow and parking in the rear is tight for more than one vehicle. There were a few minor cosmetic issues but nothing that stood out or affected our stay. Nice little place to stay for a couple of nights. Place is older but charming. Even though it’s a duplex you would never know there was someone in the front part of the house. Super clean! Appreciated the fenced in back yard for the pups. Owners were very responsive and kind. Amenities were nice. Would have liked one more seating option for comfort, but we made due. The listing title is “cozy”. It is not. I rented this unit knowing that the home is in a historic district and expected quirks. The uniqueness of the home was not the problem. This unit had no softness or comfort. The mattresses are approximately 5” thick with springs and coils. Army cots provide more comfort. (We are an Army family and have experienced Army cots.) The sofa in the living room had multiple stains, was hard and uncomfortable. The fabric was torn and shredded on the arms. The living room is pictured with two sofas. There was only the one. The other seems to be replaced with another dirty occasional chair—the most comfortable piece of furniture in the unit. The dresser in the king bedroom is another cast off (possibly a curbside find). The dresser is scratched and scarred terribly and missing pulls. The lamp was inoperable. In the main bathroom, it was difficult to shower without soaking the entire bathroom. The shower curtains do not reach the top of the bathtub! Finally, the owner messaged and asked that we start the towels in the washing machine prior to leaving. There was no detergent provided. I wonder if the towels ever get soap? My overall impression of the unit is that the furniture is from second rate thrift stores or frat house rejects. Beware! We left one day early. Unfortunately, as things go with the military, our "pack out" was delayed and I requested to change my reservation dates. The owners' brief response was that they couldn't make changes to existing reservations. Even though they market themselves as Army-affiliated and the name of their profile is "Patriot Family", there was no flexibility or assistance for a fellow military family. So we ended up only using the property for 3 of the 6 nights that we had paid for. Then, their automated "last day, getting ready for check-out" message offered us 50% off an additional night if we wanted!!! As if I would want to SPEND more money on a property that I didn't even get to use for half of the reservation! Pay attention, please!!! And yes, I knew when I booked it that there were restrictions on changes/refunds, but a little compassion in their response might have lessened the slight. Aside from that, when we did arrive, it was after dark. I had read in other reviews that the driveway was narrow, but our Chevy Silverado barely fit thru the gate. The back parking area was ok but COMPLETELY DARK. There was a back porch light that was motion sensitive but it only came on when you actually stepped onto the porch. And it turned off within about 10 seconds. So getting into the property and unloading our luggage was almost completely in the dark. Out of space, but don't recommend this property. ##### Melissa H. We didn’t know that it was a split unit and then when we got out back, it was flooded. We had to wait through water to just get into the house And then at night time in the main bedroom. There is a door that’s going into the other section with the other people that staying on the other side, you can hear everything that’s going on when you’re in bed trying to sleep. I did not like that experience. I could not sleep because to me that is dangerous someone could break through that door and you wouldn’t know nothing about it . I walked outside to get some stuff out of my car and there is poison ivy growing up the banister across half of the porch I touched it didn’t mean to and now I have poison ivy and the day that we were going to leave. We left the day early because I started breaking out And the day we were leaving the people that come to mow their mowing and the grass and tree branches that they were cutting was hitting my car. I asked them to stop and got smart with me and said I can move your car for you so I can go and keep mowing I said no we are about to leave. You can come back in a little bit. You are damaging my vehicle , He got mad and stormed off because I would not let him move my vehicle and every time you go to step outside, you had to sweep the floor because you got sand all over the floor.
