beautiful lobby area, nice pool

Posted 19-Sep-2016
Pros: spacious, well appointed rooms, easy and friendly check in and out
Cons: room service customer service, better pillows and better showers
Location: near all Columbus downtown activities
Our family of 4 stayed in a king suite room with a double pull out sofa. It was spacious, comfortable and nice. We loved having the dining table, refrigerator and two sleeping areas (each with a tv) so adults and kids could sleep at different times and watch different things. We ordered room service and they quoted us 20 minutes but food did not come for over an hour. It was good and hot but we were hungry and it took away swim time for my kids.

Never again.

Pros: The breakfast buffet was good. The guy at the omelette station was good.
Musty smell in the room. Handle on toilet was broken. Air conditioning wasn't very good. Elevators sketchy. Restaurant service for dinner was not very good.

major renovation in progress

Posted 5-Sep-2016 on Hotels
Horrible the hotel was having a huge renovation taking place. We normally sit in the atrium and relax but there was no atrium. Not only was construction going on but it was extremely noisy. My biggest problem was not knowing during booking. Hotels.com didn't mention it nor did I see mention of it on Embassy suites website.

We were really disappointed when we got there we were not informed that there was construction going on so the hole in our lobby that we saw the beautiful pictures of was nothing but a mass we were also disappointed that there was no hot tub available like the picture shown on the website the staff was pretty nice I'm except for the one woman that worked in the breakfast area she was rude and very unfriendly the plus side is my room was very clean and it was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on

Hotel is under construction and there were essentially no amenities, so courtyard, not much of anything. I should have been made aware of the condition at time of reservation so I could have stayed elsewhere. Instead I was one of about 10 customers staying there.

Don't stay here. This hotel is under going a major restoration project. The whole lobby is torn up. The carpeting is torn up. It should not be open. Seriously.

UPSET STAY - Very Rude Reception and Experience.

Posted 14-Aug-2016 on Hotels
I was greeted by Rochelle the front desk clerk. I indicated I wanted to check in and she asked me to wait a few minutes while she got things pulled up. When she pulled up the reservation she indicated to me that I had reserved a King Suite. I indicated to her that was incorrect that I reserved a suite with 2 double beds. She then argued with me and indicated I was wrong and that I had reserved a King Suite. When I produced my reservation that I had printed off showing the 2 double beds she then indicated that she had just checked in a large group and indicated that I she may not have a room for us with 2 double beds and that she would have to see what she could do for me. When I indicated I had a confirmation number she said "Oh yes we do have a room for you". We then were greeted by a massive construction/renovation that was being done in the motel and were not informed of this before we checked in. Although we did get there late at night and it really did not impact our stay it was kind of disappointing when you spend the money we were for a motel room.Upon entering the room, after the argument with the front desk, I had forgotten to request a roll-away bed. When I called down and spoke to guest services I was rudely informed that "WE DON'T HAVE ROLL-AWAY BEDS". When we reserved the hotel we did note that Roll-Away beds, Cribs, and other items were to be available to us.
