Initially platted in 1814 in Columbus' South End, German Village was generally developed between years 1840 and 1914\. It was settled largely by German immigrants in the mid-1800s. German descendants at one time comprised as much as one-third of the population of Columbus. Restoration began in 1959 and the Historic District was established in 1963\. There are a lot of signs in the neighborhood asking for me to curb my dog (which I can do). Not used to so many signs asking for the dogs not to relieve themselves, use the yard. My husband decided he wanted to join us. The communication from the owner made it very easy to check in, and we had everything we needed inside. The only thing that was less than perfect was the minor stains on the fitted sheet, but honestly my sheets at home aren't perfect either so who am I to judge? The beds and pillows were comfy, everything was clean, and the neighborhood was quiet. We didn't cook, but the kitchen looked to have the basics. We'd stay here again if we ever found ourselves back in Columbus. ##### Sara V.
