Summary:
Bring the whole family to this great place with lots of room for fun! Less than 5 minutes from Fort Jackson Army Base!

Only 15 minutes from University of South Carolina Williams Brice Stadium, The State Capital and Main Street District! There are a ton of great local restaurants near by as well as a gorgeous neighbor to enjoy a walk in!

The house is extremely spacious with a bathroom attached to each bedroom. Lets not forget the breath taking backyard with plenty of space to roam around or enjoy the hot tub!!

NO ONE was expecting us! NO communication from manager EVER despite many and repeated questions and requests for responses. A/C did not function (house REMAINED at 80 or above!) NO wifi! Low on TP. No papertowels. Unclear instructions for check-in from the owner (NEVER received check-in instructions from VRBO). No formal parking instructions on shared driveway and difficult parking arrangement. No host book. Poor lighting in all bathrooms. No frills in the kitchen at all.Good: neighborhood, size, pet-friendly, quiet, safe.

Lovely property but we were locked out of it after one night of our stay

We loved this property but there were serious issues with communicating with the property manager. First off, they property manager did not send details of the check in process until about 15 minutes after the check in time on the day of check in. We had previously requested more information before the check in, but these requests were left unanswered. Once we checked in using the keycode on the door lock, we unpacked, bought food and had a great stay the first night. On the second day, we left for our family events and, upon returning the second night, the key code on the door did not work. We repeatedly tried to reach the property manager via text and phone, but calls went to voice mail (voice mailbox was always full). The property manager advised us to get a key from a location, but we did not find one. At some point, the property manager failed to continue responding and we were stuck outside the home with our belongings inside. We had our family including my 80 year old Dad, unable to get to our medicines, clothes, etc. We contacted VRBO support and advised to self book a hotel and submit receipt to seek a refund (which we are still working on). The next day, we returned to the rental property and continued trying to contact the property manager... who STILL has not responded. However, a neighbor who supports the property owner came over when we were waiting outside... it turns out that the neighbor had a spare key to the home. This was the worst experience we've had.

Great house, needs attention

The property itself was good, super roomy and comfortable with a lot of nice areas to gather. It could be a stellar spot with a few simple fixes. There are a lot of kitchen items missing (no glasses at all), short on towels, and things like no lamp shades in one of the bedrooms. Communication was non existent. We got a text 7 minutes before checkin with instructions, which was extremely nerve wracking because we were a family group of 8 coming from different places on graduation weekend. Multiple times we tried to contact the property management and never got a reply. Luckily nothing went wrong. The house was a really great space but needs some TLC.

Beautifully decorated and comfortable haven with so much space

This home is so beautifully designed. There are so many places to chat and sink into a comfy chair for good conversation. The beds are a dream - so comfortable! Each bedroom has a bathroom and the master bath is huge with a gorgeous shower! Our family had so much fun. Everyone loved their room and we had quality time in a tranquil setting. The outdoor space is beautiful, too. Everything was clean and stunning. If you are a gourmet cook, you may need to bring or find what you need because the cooking and baking supplies vary. It didn’t stop us from making great breakfasts. I would definitely return to this gem of a space and to recommend it to others. A

Great place to stay

The home was very clean and roomy. Had plenty space for our family. The host was very hard to reach and our final payment was taken out a month before the due date. I tried to call to find out why and get receipt but the host never answered the phone or responded to any emails or messages. VRBO also tried to reach host but was not able to reach them. The day before our check in I received a text message with check in instructions.

Many pluses to this house. It is very near Ft. Jackson. Plenty of room for family. But the host would not communicate at all prior to arriving. I did not have any instructions about getting in prior to arriving. We were allowed in at 4 pm. I did not get pass code till after I had sent a request at 4:15. They did respond and got in fine. I was uneasy the whole time because of their none response. They only had one towel per guest. Low inventory. Over all it was fine for why we were there.

Perfect USC weekend

This home was a great space for 4 couples to stay for a USC football weekend. We were even able to host our kids who are students with their friends for pizza as they lounged on the sectional and utilized the hot tub. House was exactly as pictured and was a great location from grocery, campus and stadium.

Couldn’t get a response for hours

Check in was 4 but I couldn’t get a response from the property manager until almost 6. I had to contact VRBO and they had a hard time getting a response from the property managers. When the first guest arrived there was a car still in the driveway. Lights were on and they weren’t sure if someone was in the house. The property manager never told us that we would be sharing the property with other people. This made my elderly mother feel uncomfortable when she saw people walking down the driveway to get to the garage house. There is a garage type house in the back where other people were staying. The washing machine sounded like we had an earthquake and when I went to stop it it was completely turned around. The hot tub was not clean so my husband had to clean it. It seemed like they didn’t know we had rented the house.

Beautiful home and location

Forest Acres is a beautiful area and the home has tremendous charm. We enjoyed our weekend stay very much and will definitely look into booking other homes in the future with the same hosts in Columbia. The home is beautifully updated and the basement is an amazing space. We also loved the backyard. We love Forest Acres but may look at their other properties closer to campus on our next visit. Highly recommend!
