Rent a boat to explore Jackson Lake, gaze in awe at the snow-capped peaks of the Teton Range and follow trails to beaches and lookouts.

Colter Bay Marina is a starting point for superb recreational adventures on and around Jackson Lake. Enjoy intimate encounters with the majestic terrain of Grand Teton National Park. Go boating, camping, fishing, hiking and wildlife spotting. Colter Bay Marina sits on the waterfront of Colter Bay Village, surrounded by forests, lakes and mountains.

Canoes, kayaks and motorboats are available to rent at the marina from June through September. Experience the solitude of Jackson Lake at a gentle pace. Stop to relax at pebbly beaches and visit islands such as Elk Island, where overnight camping is possible. Admire the sweeping views of the northern Teton Range, which includes Doane Peak, Eagles Rest Peak, Mount Moran and Rammel Mountain.

Guided cruises also operate from the marina throughout the summer months. Choose between breakfast, lunch and dinner cruises with food served at a scenic outdoor picnic site on Elk Island. Fishing enthusiasts will enjoy the chance to cast a line and wait patiently for trout, pike and salmon. Purchase a permit and go alone or join a fishing tour.

Outdoor adventures continue out of the water via easy walking trails. Follow the Heron Pond and Swan Lake Loop south from the marina through conifer forests and wild meadows. It connects with Hermitage Point Trail. At the marina’s northern end is the start of the Lakeshore Trail, which skirts the waterfront of a peninsula and has access to lake beaches.

Wild animals roam freely around the lake and trails and should be respected. Expect to see bears, birds of prey, elk and moose. Visit the Colter Bay Visitor Center to pick up information about Grand Teton National Park and purchase backcountry permits. Browse exhibits of indigenous art and artifacts from the 1830s to 1940s.

Colter Bay Marina is a 20-minute drive northwest of the Moran Entrance Station to Grand Teton National Park. Free parking is available in the village. Use the campsites a short walk from the marina for tent and motorhome stays.
