Nestled in the heart of historic Colonial Beach, the renovated historic School Board building is perfect for your family and friends getaway. Located one block away from the public pier, Circa 1892 Wine and Cheese Shop, and a half a dozen other point of interest, you can't get much closer to the action! The large open living room and kitchen is perfect for entertaining and hosting for family style dinners or game nights. With plenty of room to spread out, everyone can have their own gateway to unwind and relax from a day on the beach or walking the town. While this building was recently fully renovated, some of the unique original features were kept such as the massive business safe that was converted into a walk in closet. Beds: 2 King Beds 3 Queen Beds 2 Twin Beds Upon entering the unit you will find yourself facing the original staircase leading you to the master bedroom with en suite and the spare double queen bed family bedroom. To the right is the first of many large bedrooms with a king size bed, walk in closet created from the original jail safe, and Jack and Jill bathroom that leads into the kitchen. To the left are 2 separate bedrooms that house the 2 twin beds and 1 queen bed, respectively. Past the bedrooms is the open concept living room and kitchen. Here you will find plenty of space to cook family style meals and relax to your favorite shows or games with your fellow guests. Upstairs is the main bedroom, with king bed, and ensuite; along with family bed room with double queen size beds and shared hallway, full bathroom. It was beautifully decorated and a great location. Walking distance to the beach and shops/restaurants was perfect. I would recommend the owners install a more secure lock on the front and back doors. We travelled with toddlers and small children and it was very unsafe because they could easily open the door. So we blocked it with baby gates and chairs as best as we could. But it was a source of stress for parents. Would also recommend adding actual curtains instead of sheers to the kitchen and living room. At night we felt like we had no privacy. The floors and counters were dirty when we arrived and everyone who walked barefoot had dirty feet. The washer and dryer and amenities were wonderful and the check in/out was easy. The beds were very comfortable and rooms were large, which was nice for families so we didn’t feel cramped. I would recommend the owners store some baby gates and toddler latches for the doors in the closet so families with small children can use them if staying there. The host is super fast at replying, made our check in process easy, and was super hospitable. They even accommodated our last minute wish to check in early! The ONLY thing I can think of that can be improved is the level of cleanliness. Everything was beautiful and clean except for areas underneath the rugs, which were covered with sand and dirt. There was so much space for everyone, we had 10 people and it never felt crowded. The house is in great condition and we were able to cook a big dinner for everyone in the large kitchen. Check in/check out was simple. A very short walk to the beach and pier. This was our first time to colonial beach and we found it charming and imagine it will be more lively during the summer. ##### Erika B. Large bedrooms with comfortable beds. Clean and updated property. Not much privacy from outside in living/dinning/kitchen areas but ample room for large family groups. No outdoor amenities. Kitchen accessories well stocked for most needs. Decor is very tasteful. Nice open living space for larger groups. We chose the house for its off-street parking amenity, but were notified last minute that we would not be allowed to park in the driveway during our stay due to paving. ##### Kendall C.
