"The Stables Cottage includes a foyer, eat-in kitchen, sitting room, and bathroom with tub and shower downstairs. The two bedrooms were upstairs plus a bathroom with shower only. We loved every minute. The kitchen had an apartment size/dorm-size refrigerator, double oven with 4-burner stove top, small sink with spigot and dish-drying rack, dishwasher, and washing machine. "Lovely spacious well-heated house in beautiful countryside. We had a week of snowy weather which was heavenly. Edward, the owner was extremely helpful. He towed out some cars which got stuck in the car park by the house, provided lots of logs, replaced the washing machine which had problems and was generally a great help. This is a house for people who like old books and furnishings...don't go there if you want modern posh."

"We stayed here for a short break with the family. We were greeted with a lovely welcome pack from the owners and was really impressed with the lodge. Its location was perfect for places to visit, we went to Bamburgh castle, Berwick, Alnwick gardens and Holy Island in the time we stayed. "A beautiful property that was perfect for our needs. There were five adults and four children in our group and it catered, and was accessible, for all. Supermarkets are close, the views are fantastic, and the house itself was clean and tidy. We had to switch the timer off on the heating as it was very cold with it on but the house warmed up very quickly and it was really warm after a while. We would absolutely stay again and recommend it to anyone."
