The hotel was pristine and the staff very friendly. I had a truly delicious meal with pasta and great bread. It was much appreciated after a long day of travel. I booked here for the shuttle to the airport - and they did not disappoint.

The hotel room was quite roomy and we had an accessible suite, so the bathroom was a good size. Not much around the area, however. It is a 15 - 20 min walk to restaurants. We only stayed one night, so can't say much about the surrounding area, but Coimbra is a great picturesque town with interesting sites. We spend most of our morning at the university of Coimbra.

Easy parking, helpful staff, easy walk to the historic center of town. The room is in need of a deep cleaning and update. Carpet is old and stained, bathroom fixtures are ild and broken. Recommended for the parking and location.

You had to slam the door to shut it. There was no sound proofing. The room was very comfortable and clean. The staff and goose rice was great. They served a good breakfast. We enjoyed our stay.

We were SO pleased with everything at the Tivoli! The beds were VERY comfortable, the sheets lux! Wifi in the room wasn’t fast enough to work with but it was very doable downstairs. We loved the service and will be back again!

Disappointed; could have been much better!
Hotel was overall in good condition, central location was convenient for walking around and seeing the sites of Coimbra. The breakfast buffet was nice, the cafe food was good. The bed was very comfortable. Construction in front of the hotel made dropping off and picking up the car a bit difficult but that is out of the hotel's control and should be completed soon. What really put a damper on the whole stay was having our room broken into, the safe broken into and all our cash stolen. Disappointed in the staff's response to this, there was no effort made to make us feel more secure...we had to ask them to call the Police to investigate. They were very nonchalant about the event. They did finally move us to a new room 24 hours after the break in, when we asked if that would be possible as we were still very anxious and feeling unsettled.

I pay but don’t stay….
I can not make a review because there was an issue with my reservation (issue with the hotel booking system) and there was no room available for my family. I had to be relocated to another hotel nearby… no big issue at all as the new hotel was good, however I had to split my family in 2 rooms instead of staying in a suite that I had booked at Tivoli. My disappointment with Tivoli is because despite the significant inconvenience caused, they charged me the full amount (I paid for something I have not bought)… I would expect at least some type of compensation for the inconvenience.

Nice Central Hotel
Very quick check in. Reception staff friendly. The parking was a bit vague for motorcycles and the view over the car park was not grat, The hotel is centrally situated and had good facilities

This hotel had a wonderful location close to everything, clean and large rooms with noce furnishings. It was easy to park as the valet parking was only $10 euros a day. The staff was friendly enough.

I was under the impression that the "Tivoli" brand was a higher class hotel chain. But the property was just normal to me. It was basic but clean. Toiletries were not properly stocked when I arrived and I had to call a couple times to request soap. Also if you don't have housekeeping, they will give you a drink voucher. I never received it so I had to ask. You also receive a bottle of water daily but since I didn't have housekeeping, no one left me water. After checking out, I went to the bar to redeem my free drink voucher. The bartender was obviously not happy that I had already checked out. She said I needed to get the drink first before checking out. She did end up calling the front desk to tell them and she made me my drink. But it's not like American customer service where they will just provide it to you without sighing and telling you that you did something wrong because you didn't know. Overall, hotel was okay. Location is good.

Do not visit this hotel
We had to cancel our stay as our traveling friends got Covid. The hotel did not accommodate our change. I would never suggest this hotel. We had a crazy experience. I would not stay there in Coimbra.

Compared to the Tivoli in Lisbon, this building is badly in need of upgrading. The old wooden doors of the wardrobe in the room were stuck making the access to the safe difficult. The location of the property is not great too for the walk to the “old quarter” leading to the university.
